Shadow Ruins Again - The Third Rune
Shadow Ruins Again - The Third Rune
I'm stuck trying to activate the third rune. I'm in the hallway with poisoned water and basement that go up and down. I have tried a lot of time, falling, and not falling in the water below but the shadow gate on the other side remains inactive. I swimmed also trying to look if there is a switch or lever but I didn't find anything.
Help please.
Help please.

As you enter the room you will see all four platforms up and then they drop but will come up in exactly the sequence you want so position your self to jump to each platform right away. If you fall in the water the shadow gate will turn off. Should this happen go back out of the room and wait a bit so the platforms will reset. Do not try to jump then before they reset as they will rarely be in sequence.

Thanks for help but unfortunately I don't arrive in time to the other side. I have also tried using celestial spell time but it doesn't help. I've tried for more than one hour but the second platform start going down as soon as I arrive on it. It seems that the shadow gate on the other side turn off after a certain period of time so I cannot wait to have platform in a better sequence. This game have a lot of problem and this is one more. Not good.

This isn't a 'game problem', but a 'pain in the butt jump puzzle' ... there is a difference
You are on the right track - but you need some decent FPS / jump puzzle skills here. As mentioned, as soon as you enter the room, position yourself to corner jump to the first block, then immediately to the next, then angle 90 deg to jump to the third, then angle again for the last and quickly jump to the ending.
It is very make-able ... and very frustrating. Frustrating because that exact pattern only seems to happen when you enter the room. I saw it and waited for it to repeat ... and waited ... and waited ... so I left, re-entered and BAM, there it was. Third time I failed on the third jump, and fourth time I made it.

Might help might not....
Here's somthing u guys might not know or realize. When u first enter the room with the poison water and plateforms you will be standing on a stone/plate with runes on them. If u move off it and watch it will rise and when u step back on it, it will go down. Thats what starts the sequence for the platforms and shadow gate. Hope that helped, even though im still stuck on it not to mention that if u leave the shadow ruins at all u cant get back in is that a glitch???

Well I personally don't know if that's a glitch or not but appreciate the information cause I was tempted to leave but don't want to without saving at another save point so if I can't get back in I can restart before I leave.

seems that everyone had a problem with it
hahahaha... that is so funny.
this kind of problem will make a good 20 to 30% of people to quit the game.
to bad...
I hope they fix this problems in the 1.3 ver.
cause I enjoy the game a lot.
A map would do a lot of help.
BTW ... I am stuck here too
number 7 time or so.

Alot of people have trouble with this room in particular, myself included. I noticed something that I did that made it Alot more difficult than it really is and I'm sure alot of people do this. When you first enter the room turn to face the first pillar on the right, but watch the last pillar you have to jump to, when it starts to go down, you should make the jump onto the first pillar right then as it will be raising up underneath you. If you wait until you can see the first pillar coming up, you're already too late, or near enough as you will have trouble making the last couple jumps in time.
It's something like this.
Enter the room, all pillars are up, turn to the right to face the first pillar as it goes down. Watch the last pillar, just As it starts to go down, jump. Pivot towards second pillar and jump, the second pillar will not quite be done rising as you land. Pivot to the third pillar which will just about be all the way up and jump. The last pillar will be just finishing rising as you turn to jump on it so get on it and jump off fast.
At least that's how I remember it happening the last few times I went through here.
People that quit playing something just because it's difficult are pretty pathetic. The type of person that would cheat at Solitaire is the type of person that quits something when it gets tough. Knowing how hard it is and working at it repeatedly until you get it right and Finally beat it is reason enough to cheer, can't get that feeling when you give up or cheat.

Argh
I am pulling my talons out in frustration over the water room This is the first time I've had trouble with a 'jumping' puzzle in this game. I've tried using the crystal of time, etc, and the farthest I made it was to the last pillar.
I'll just keep trying... I really am enjoying this game in spite of everything.
What Fiko said is correct tho- stand on the glyph plate, all the pillars are up; then make it to the right corner. Jump to the first pillar when the last pillar goes down and go on from there.
Now I just have to do it successfully.

Hate to sound obnoxious her ebut if you look at the WALK through, it explains it there just great. This place is very well explained under SR Kingston's area. It was a pain in the butt, but once you see the pattern its easy to jump.. as for the rest of the runes they are explained in the walk through as well
