Fathien's Tomb - Tomb Lift

Post by Soozie »

So far, have explored the Keep itself ... I think. Have a Tomb and Keep Key. Found some steps leading down to a sewer. Swimming forward you come to two gates. One you can swim under, which has nothing but some pillars in it. The other one has a small platform with a gate that does not open. Neither one has any other way to proceed. Alternative is to swim back to the steps I entered from and continue exploring the Keep.

I found one lift that takes you down and to the back of Fathien's Throne Room where you first met him, but where is the lift that takes you down to the tombs?

I'm completely lost ... help.

you want to take that lift/elevator down to the tombs. it's where the amor is located.
note of caution: save before entering any rooms and don't save while inside them. there is a bug in which once you grab an item, the doors shut, and a monster appears and from what others have mentioned that if you save while there and for some reason reload your game you'll be stuck in that room without any hope of getting out.

Thanks, JP and Darkpark, much appreciated. Remember I mentioned the sewer room that had a lot of pillars? Well swimming back to where I entered that part of the sewer, following the stairs up, I found the room with pillars. You can jump across them to the other side, so I'll explore that first then look for the lift down to the tombs. I'm sure I'll be back ... this game badly, very badly needs an automap.

soozie, the part you're in leads to veritan the son of elvithra. also, don't bother with the water areas down there since they only lead to dead ends. save your game before you start making the jumps in case you fall in because trying to return to that point takes forever.

once you rescure veritan than head back to the elevator that lead to the tombs.

Thanks again, DarkPark. I did find Veritan, and freed him. After looting the chests couldn't see anything of interest in here, so hopped back over the pillars.

So now the issue is, where is the darn lift/elevator that takes you down to the tombs. I can't find it.

i don't remember how i got there since i just kept running around like crazy until i accidentally stumbled upon it. what i do remember is that near where the elevator is you'll notice several things along the wall that look like cabinets that you can open. in fact, the area might resemble a kitchen.

Okay, Darkpark, got it. I do remember a room with those cabinets. In fact, I think there are two rooms like that. I'll start looking around, and thanks again.

I finally found the lift. Actually you can get to it through the Dining Hall or through the Throne Room. Facing the Throne, taking that corridor on your right and follow it to another corrider on your left. :D

I noticed a crate I hadn't bashed, and it led me right into it.

Thanks, guys.

I'm in the same area. I've pretty much run the whole keep and looted all the chests but I dont have the key to open the 2 gates when you go down the lift.

Any help on where I can find this key? Thanks.

Edit: Oops, after a bit more aimless wondering i found the tomb key.

The Lift

I think I picked the gate at the bottom of the lift. At least one of them. Both exits from here leads to the sewers and I been all over these areas openeding chests in the rooms and hacking fish but I still can't find the armor. Can someone help? Oh and I did find a chest or two under the water and one of two rods that is used to open a gate.

as soon as you come down the elevator there are two gates: on the left and in front of you.
if you take teh left one, eventually see a button along the bottom of the corridor which you sh ould press and that will reveal a secret area which has one of the rods.
go back to the area with teh elevator and open the other door. after solving the puzzle with the lever this will lead you to a sewer area but at the dead end there should be two slots, one for each rod. insert the rod on the left use it and take teh way that has now been opened to you.
in this section you should find a second rod which you'll use to open the other gate.

The lift

Thanx darkpark, I don't think I would have fount that brick. Now I placed the two rods in the proper place and opened the gates which seems a waste of time because I was able to get to the other sides by roaming all over the sewer including all the underwater tunnels. But I still can't find the tomb where the Argalia should be located.

I just came from there, so my memory is fresh. On the left and right side of the levers, the underwater channels have 1 room each with buttons. In other words, there are two rooms with buttons. One of these secret rooms has the armor. I believe, facing the levers, it's the right side.

Yeah, I actually found the buttons when I wasn't bleady eyed from staying up till the wee hours. I have since been back to Arindale and am now on the quest for the other relics. I hope I will be able to get thru the gate to the Forbidden Lands now.

You got me on that one, Newty. If your talking about the door leading back to the elevator, that door never closed once it was open.

Maybe someone else can shed some light on this, or I hope you have a saved game. Did you notice, swimming around, at what point it had closed? Are you patched?

Hi there, i know what i did now....

I had to reloaded from an old save game...

What happened i think, was i had a fight in the doorway, and after i pressed 'shift' to pick up the loot(deadmans hair probably LOL), and i think it shut the door as i walked in, therefore locking me inside.

Reloaded and just took the horn to emmindor, so all's well...

Cheers

Oh.... when u leave emmindor (after invoking the horn), he says help yourself to spellbooks and baubles downstairs.... is he lying LOL, because i found none..

Great, your out of there. As for Emmindor's stuff, I think those goodies he mentioned must be something they didn't complete at release. I couldn't find anything.
