Battlemage Quest - Where is Krugas?

For the love of %$#@^ I can't find Krugas
He is supposed to be south of Lost Lake.

I have read that he is east southeast of the sign post with Arindale and Talendor on it. I have searched all over that area and can't find him.
Anyone been able to find him and can let me know exactly where he is?

I'd really like to get the Scribe skill.

Ok: go North of Arinadale by going past the Alchemist store. Stay on the East side of the river going to Lost Lake.
On the map, there's a swampy area below the SE part of Lost Lake. He's there but you might run across a fire drake as well.
He summons undead, so good luck

The swampy area is where I've been looking. All over it.
I'm going to try again. Maybe I've been running around too much and I'll just stay still.

Maybe its a bug too. Hopefully not.

krugas is there, just find the sign and keep going east. when you are almost on the other side go a little south.try to find undead skeletons, he will be close

I have to agree: He's not there. I've been up and down that swamp section ad infinitum -- all the way from the Arindale sign to Talendor and back; of Krugas there is neither hide nor hair. I'm assuming it's a bug introduced by 1.1 . . .

I looked again at every inch of that area, both during the day and night. No luck. I think it is a bug too.
I'll continue on without finishing this quest. Kinda too bad 'cause I picked a female elf just so I could be very powerful in magic.

I'll come back to the area when I get the 1.2 patch and hope for the best.

I'm running v1.1 and I just found (and beat) Krugas in the area mentioned. He was SouthEast of Lost lake, near the shore. He was a real bear to beat. I used Blade of Baal with dual light blades, and that did the trick. It helped not only to kill him, but also to thin out the minions of undead in my way. Oh yeah, I also turned on my protection from fire, also a huge help.

Anyway, it has nothing to do with v1.1.

Krugas

Hi,

I find him as well. He was more or less in the first third of the swamp area near the shore (if you are coming from arindale). But not very difficult to fight. After reaching him a pack of 10 wolfes joined him with his summoned undead - somehow I missed them and they were following

Interesting was, that I did a level up to Battlemage more or less immidiatly. Talking with the arcane people didnt bring up the theme that he was killed. But my stats show that I was a Battlemage then.

Its a bug.

For those of you stuck not finding that fool, I have a pain in the tail solution. If you have a save prior to getting the mission, load it. IF not, what I did was hoofed it back to the old hag, regardless where you are in other quests, and saved the game in her hut. Uninstalled DL, keeping the "Save" Folder on my desktop. Re-installed without the patch. Slapped in my SAVE folder. Loaded the game where I was in the hut. Talked to her where she reminded me of my task....went straight back to the swamp NON-STOP!. Just fly by the 25%done Arindale (a tavern with no furnishings or campfire to rest?!!). Dont bother with any stops there. Just B-Line it back to the swap. The moment I hit that back SE corner in that swamp, he appeared. Should be the 1st spawn in that area. After I killed him, I ran back to the old hag for her confirmation. Got it. Saved again....then patched to 1.1

I repeated this method twice and worked both times. The one time I patched the game right away to 1.1 after the install, it didnt work. The time I went into the Hall of Weapons to get some stuff before hitting the swamp, it didnt work. Only seemed to work if you talk to her then go straight to the swamp right after.

Like I said pain in the tail solution but if you want that BM status, Im just relaying what worked for me. Hope it does for you...BTW that bug sucked hours of my time wandering! DOH

Next time I get to a moongate I'm going to do everything you described.

I'm quite powerful now so going to that area without saving shouldn't be a problem.

I don't know -- I tried the trick with loading 1.0; didn't work for me. I'm wondering if my stats weren't high enough to qualify as Battlemage; going to try again after I've raised them. If that doesn't work, I'll have to wait and hope that v1.2 fixes this.

Can you change your class selection?

I do not know if it will help, but somewhere I read about it.
If you get the quest, walk straight to the swamp without saving. Maybe you could find him then. Bit I do not know if it works. I am using 1.1. and had no problem finding him. Good luck
