I noticed somthing today, and I thought it was quite odd. If Jan is good with trinkets and such, why is his "Set Trap" skill so low? (Sorry, I tend to notice odd things)

Because he's an inventor, not a bounty hunter. He'd rather spend his time making stuff, then catching things.
In memorian: Fiona; Ravager; Lestat; Phreddie; and all of those from the 1500 incident. Lest we forget.

Yeah, but he invents cool toys for taking out badies. Why not put that inventor mind of his to good use, and make some awesome traps?

You need simply to put points into it yourself. As his other relevant skills are already high, you will max it out before you even need the traps.

Yup, that's one thing I like about Jan. Me personally, I leave his Hide in Shadows and Move Silently skill as they are. (which are low but invis gets the job done) Needless to say, his Set Traps got to 100 fairly quick.

also, his detect illusions starts at 70, so two levels and he's ready to replace true sight, which i love because my mages get a little more offensive power.
