Hey, don't just get frustrated yet.
Try to post a link of your character picture & inventory.
Tell us what your character is, and on what skill/attributes that you add during the character creation.
Read the manual, on how to disarm traps.
a level 2 or 3 on inspect and disarm trap should help you on the chest in the sewer.

Also, are you wearing equipment that penalizes your abilities because you haven't met the requirements. Swarms of enemies in the sewers can be tough to deal with. You probably just need to get aquainted with the game a little more and then everything will fall into place. Like Zed said though, more details might help us give you specific feedback.

Good deal dude. I couldn't read the specifics, such as your attribute stats becuase the resolution was too low. But here's what I suggest.
You are a male elf. They are sort of weak to start, comes with the territory for intelligent races in the game. You have penalties on your equipment. Get rid of them by putting points into the correct armor, shield, and weapon skills, and meet necessary stregth reqs.
Get rid of that cool staff. Experiment with the burning staff later, but i tried that goblin staff myself in the same situation and could hardly hit a thing, use your best light weapon.
Put 5 points into light weapon to get the skill bonus at that level. Keep in mind that you will never become a pure mage in this game, so make sure you can melee.
Put 3 points in inspect and disarm. You are so putting yourself at a disadvantage by not opening up treasure chests. You are missing a ton of stuff including weapons and armor that might drop. I suggest a few points in lockpick although you only need it a few times.
Hope these tips help. I've found though that first character creation is learning experience. You will make "mistakes". You can always create a new character if you find you enjoy the game. This is true with any rpg of course.

try using your shield (right mouse button) and time the attacks, For example when they attack u, wait until their done their attack sequence then hit them, then bring your shield back up. takes alittle while but in the end, u will be ok. And do what Frodo1 says, u get better items from chests as well as healing potions.

From the newer pictures I can see that you got rid of those penalties. Good.
Especially at lower Levels those penalties are a killer as they either stop you hitting anything or, let you only hit so far in between that you end up being dead pretty quickly.
I would suggest increasing your light weapon skill to 5 to give you combo-attacks and light armour to at least 3 in order to get medium armour. It will also allow you later to increase your magic weapon skill in order to use more magical weapons (i.e burning staff, etc)
Finally once you have decided which magic you like using best, put a few points into it as otherwise some spells may fail.

Cheats
Yes we understand you want "cheats" not "chests" information. In the early going, killing groups of mobs can be difficult until you up your skill levels. So the question is how do you stay alive long enough to develop those skills with 3, 4, or 10 mobs attacking you. The easy way to do this is to "cheat" or manipulate the mob AI and geography. There are many places that mobs cannot access. For instance where the game starts, not far from there are little huts with chests in them. Mobs will attack you and if you tried to fight them you will die. However, if you stay on the platform you can hit the mobs usually one at a time and they cant get to you except for the one that you are attacking. Doing this will allow to gain valuable skill points to strengthen your character and then you can survive in the tunnels under the city. Going into the tunnels before you develop special attack skills is suicide...at least in my opinion. This way you can store up on dropped heal potions which will also allow you to stay alive in the tunnels.
