"Thank you so much, I need to buy a new cart, I know. I guess my kids were right when they said I was too much of a pincher. I have all this gold and I refuse to buy anything. Maybe it is time I spend some of my riches. If you can help me I will be glad to reward you with something from my cart."

They make it to the gate where the merchant offers 4 things:

A permit to get in the gate

A Golden Staff

A Black Cloak

A Silver Ring that looks almost identical to the one the one Argantes has on his finger.

"Here you are, 3 of my most valuable things or an extra permit for the city, it is a merchant permit not a citizens which allows you entrance for 2 people and a cart. And access to the Ports. Stay out of the residential area though. Or the capital Kingdom area. You will be attacked on site with the wrong permit. Since the recent attacks on the King you don't want to have the wrong permit.

Turns towards Argantes and whispers "What do you say we do? Take two items and hand one off to the elf and see if he will sneak us inside? Or take one item and a permit, and what do we pick?"

"Normaly I would just take all the items in exchange for the mans life, slay the elf and feed on his dying soul, but today the fool shall live. We shall bargain with the man for 3 items and a permit, if he doesn't I will have the pleasure of killing him."

*sighs*

"Ah, but perhaps there has been much trouble today. 2 items and the permit lie to the elf and keep the Items, we shall promise the elf that we will give him an item and either kill him or leave him unconscious in the middle of the town, Your thoughts?"

as soon as the riot starts sourav trys to slip away , but still interested he decided's to follow at a safe distance as he reachs the edge of town sourav does a bird whistle and his small sparrow hawk friend arrives promtly "go and find a dwarf and a dark figure i will catch you up".

later on that day hiding in the bush on a hill sourav watchs as kradt & argantes walk up to the gate and start talking to someone , he thinks - this could be interesting kradt seems like a pressure cooker and the way argantes walks he's obviously confident in himself

souravs hawk returns to the nearest tree and chirps "they seem to be doing a deal " sourav chirps "we will have to wait and see "

"What if we can't kill the elf and he know's we are lying? We can grab the permit and head inside with something else, or go back to the elf and give him an item and still have something else of our own. I have this suspicion if we just ditch that elf he will cause trouble for us later on."

Well, how about this, just to ensure we can get in on our own, we take the permit as one of the things. Just in case he is lying and we need to get inside without him. Then we need to pick and item for him to have so we can sneak inside with him. I don't care which, but that way, we keep our bargain with him and see what he's all about. I don't relish the thought of keeping someone behind our backs that suddenly pops out of nowhere, do you?"

"Well then, do we give him the staff, cloak or the ring? I'd say the cloak, he seemed to want your ring, and having one identical to it with someone who can hide so well may end up with you having a different ring when you wake up."
