Infinte Spells SPOILER

Post by Shados_Draconio »

Ok, I'm curious. My brother claims he's gotten other spells in the book besides fireball and whatever. I said once you get the book, you can turn the page once, then you're at the last spell. So, who's right?

You can turn the pages a few times if I recall correctly. Like 4-5 times... you may want to test this out.

- 1st, if you add the SPOILER tag, you do not need to put ALL your text in black
- 2nd, try to be clearer, you'll get more answers, more quickly :D

If he wants to put the text in black along with adding SPOILER, all the more power to him. That's fine.

That's not really what I wanted to say... I wanted to point out the fact that his post seems to be empty because it is ALL in black.

Tip: Add spoiler tags between []'s

Ex :
Spoiler
Text in black here

There's no real spoiler in this thread anyway.
And what's the point in putting it in black? I can read the black text just as easily as the white without highlighting it. If you want to make it impossible to read without highlighting, then it should be the same colour as the background, which is more of a charcoal. In fact, if you could use HTML in these forums, or if that UBB code was the least bit flexible, you could use that colour, its code is 111111.

I can't read it without highlighting it, which is the purpose of putting black-on-black.

As for Shados' question, it does contain unknown game information to people that haven't played a certain area, so it is a spoiler.

If anybody wants to argue the point any further, feel free to PM me, rather than using this thread.

Alright... back to the topic.

@Shados_Draconio - well, he's more right than you. You can get other spells, but once you get the "last page", you're stuck with whatever it is. I went to a saved game and reloaded a few times after turning the page until I hit the final one and here's what I got:

Fireball
Burning Hands (end)

Fireball
Lightning Bolt
Invisibility
Protection From Evil
Wyvern Call
Invisibility (again!)
Burning Hands (end)

Fireball
Wyvern Call
True Seeing
Protection From Evil
Farsight
True Seeing (again!)
True Seeing (again?!)
Invisibility
Stinking Cloud
Stinking Cloud (again?)
Lightning Bolt
Farsight (oy.)
True Seeing (vei.)
Spell Turning
Fireball
Wyvern Call
Stinking Cloud
Lightning Bolt
Invisibility
Protection From Evil
Fireball
(...)

I gave up here because I was getting very bored from it, but seeing at least one 7th level spell (spell turning?? wow!) makes it clear there's a small chance of getting very decent spells, and a good chance of getting something rather useful.

Maybe i've been lucky, but I've always had the chance to get "spell turning" which IMO is the best option (considering that you can use it with a fighter).
True sight can also be a good choice (if you don't have an Inquisitor or a high lev. thief with you), because will save a valuable spell slot to your spellcaster. The rest is pretty crappy (wands/stackable potions are better).
