Altar of Diamond Light

Post by Zed Zorander »

I have been to the different Altars but this one (NW of Arindale) is different because when I press shift in fornt of it it tells me Item required.

The question is which one?

I have found several altars and most need some items. I think some items you will only get through quests.

I think some might be race related thats why the "Item required" dosnt show up on them. Don't quote me on it though, it's just my suspicion.

Crystal of Light Quest

To activate this one you must be doing the Celestial class quest. The guy in the Empyreum in Arindale will give you a crystal of some sort that you must fill with light at the alter. The result is the creation of the Crystal of Light, a dagger I think. It is a very cool weapon and you get to keep it. It has low base damage, but is a de-facto magic weapon, meaning that you don't have to put points in magic weapon to use it, but that it has typical magic weapon effects; magic damage on contact and occaissional bursts of electricity. I found it to be extremely effective early on. It is very cool to look at, looking like a mini Lightsaber! It is not listed in the weapons section at GameBanshee, but a similar looking crystal is listed here: http://www.gamebanshee.com/cgi-bin/sear ... pe=Daggers

Thank you Frodo.

I only became a Paladin which is probably why I never got that quest.

Ya, I've noticed that it is a Celestial only quest. My Paladin had to fight some bad guy in Talendor I think. Or was it...so many quests, so little time and brain cells.

Hurray for chicken pot pies!

Hey, that crystal of emptiness listed in the database under daggers changed to the crystal of light (5 to 9 damage light weapon with protection from undead) after I visited the Altar of Diamond light and tried to get the "item required" message that all the other altars have given me. This was the first altar I checked out after aquiring the crystal of emptiness from the trickster class quest. Maybe some of those other altars result in other weapons from this empty crystal? I dunno, I made the mistake of saving in a bad spot after aquiring this nifty toy. Might be worth checking into.
