I have gotten to lvl 4 with my sorcerer and and have gotten the spells burning hands, magic missle ice dagger but when i click the spell button in battle (the thing with the moon and stars) my spells come up as gray and i am unable to click them!!! what happened???

Hmm... can you give more information? What's your sorcerer's charisma? Did you used to be able to use them? If you look in the spell book does it list them as available? Have you just cast already cast them all for the day and just need to rest?
Or you use the party formation screen to delete that character and add a different one at level one. They should level up pretty quickly since that'll bring you average experience level down.

That, or relocate her ability scores with DaleKeeper II. But Ishuman is right, she will level up pretty fast if you start her from lvl 1 now.
