Demon Key

Post by swcarter »

I was playing through the Naga Temple for the second time, and this time after freeing the captured thieves in the prison, I followed along after them to see if there was a reward like with the captured guards. Well, two of the thieves didn't do anything, but the last one (the one who talks about the relic and the sigil) gave me a demon key.

I'm pretty sure that there aren't any doors in the temple that I couldn't open, so I'm curious if anybody else got the key and figured out what to do with it.

Last night I got the key too. But I'm on my first run through the game, so I haven't completed the naga temple yet.

After talking to him, you have to follow him. He'll walk to the western side of the room, under the ledge leading to the fire passage. Then he'll give you the key.

Somebody wrote in to us that the key does in fact open a door in the tomb of souls, but I think I'm a fairly long way away from verifying it.

I just completed the Naga Temple. Freed and talked with the thieves, but I don't think I got a Demon Key. I do have a key in my inventory called a Dungeon Key, but have no idea when I got it.

What dungeon is the Demon Key for, and is it necessary to complete a quest or the game?

After you talk to the thieves, you have to follow them, or else you won't get the key.

The key unlocks a small treasure room in the Tomb of Souls. It's not required for finishing the game or any quests, but it does allow you to fight this really tough demon that's worth 1.7 million experience. The demon is the toughest battle I've had in the game so far.

Thanks, SW. I got a feeling the Dungeon Key is not the same as the Demon Key, so will probably miss out on facing the Demon. I'm having a hissyfit over loosing those xp's.

Yeah, that was quite the fight. I just beat him (or it?) today. The tough part was the getting knocked back by his magic attacks, he just kept tossing spells at me.

I missed following the captive thief and did not get the demon key. Is there another way to get the key? I'm disappointed if I cannot fight the demon. :(

A couple of days ago I released the thieves but I did not get a key at all! I saved just prior to that and tried a couple of times. So no 1.7mil experience for me

So did I. However I think the game developers should not just let such items disappear. If one misses such an opportunity there should be a second way to get the key/tool. I went back to the naga temple but could not find the thief or the key again. In this case it's not that important but it makes the difference between a good and a first class game.
