Map of SHadow Ruins Available

Post by lunaraven »

I made a map of the shadow ruins along with some answers on how to pass some of the puzzles. Let me know what you think! :o

Well I for one find it very good.

One thing though, using a crystal of time does NOT help when jumping the pillars as the clock for the shadow gate works in real time.

I found that if you cast the crystal of time and then hit the floor plate, it does work, you just have to activate the door after you cast the spell not before

Unfortunately for me, that didn't work

I remember an omission in your map:
In the room to the left of the starting room (before the two templar knights/directly north of the starting room) there is a loose book (right side of the room) which opens a secret room with Treasure on the lefthand side of the room as you enter.

Island maps

I've got a map of some of the islands...looks like a finite state automata...
any computer science people out there (besides myself) that can identify them as deterministic vs non-deterministic?
(Hint: you dont need the map to tell)

And you thought you'd never need to remember that stuff....

I wanted to add someting for your map, section C where there are Athena Bashers and pillars with glyphs, you have to jump onto the pillars with the blue-ish rune that look like a 7 with a small triangle beside it (IIRC...).
The glyph will send you to the next pillar with the same glyph, which will avoid the Athena Bashers.

Actually the room before the two templar knights. The room directly north of where you first enter the dungeon.

The loose tome is in the right place but, the secret room is in the same room (i.e about an inch higher than where you put it).

Also, I discovered another secret room with two Level 8 Chests: it's in the room next to the knight (shadow door) just under the rune. When you activate the rune glyph you have to quickly jump down (where the knight now holds the sword) and enter the alcove. This will take you to a room below containing two chests, a few crates and barrels. To exit that room, a shadowgate will take you back to the room above.

Worked just fine for me. I had time to make the jumps, then open crates on both sides and still made it into the portal before it closed.

I'm confused about the room with the 3 Athena stautes (section B on your map) - the room just PAST the floating islands.

The three statues never attack me, and none of the portals are active save one. If I go through the active portal, I just end up on the islands. The islands bring back to the same room - islands - room - islands - room - ad nauseum. I never see any "treasure chest", nor do I see any way out of here now. What am I missing?

when you get to the island with the arched gate on it, that is when you turn around and go throught the other gate until you get to a treasure chest. the chest has a soul stone to put in the athena statue. kill her then another gate opens..rinse repeat

Ok, I just got stuck here too. Going to try it now. Good map, thanks.

edit: Yup, works like a charm.

Also I would like to add that there is a level 9 treasure chest in the area behind lord kingston. When you raise the platforms (in between the fire spouts), a secret doorway opens. The doorway is opposite of the knight in the middle. The doorway also stays open very shortly.

OK what is the deal with the room with all the Shadow gates and Lord Kingston's statue and the Templar Knight statues, I have read that you activate the two templars and a "ledge" appears, done this five or six times and no ledge? is the ledge supposed to appear on the small alcove that is in the middle of the room?
