Manaan help, please (spoilers)

Post by feral »

I went to Manaan right after Dantione and walked into the Sith base to recover the droid data module. So, I'm pretty low level. I managed to almost clean out the base and then ran into the dark Jedi master. He's slaughtering me, depiste all sorts of tricks (knight speed, force valor, hyper stimulant). I just can't hit him nealy often enough to cause much damage.

Am I just too low-level? If so, I'll just leave (I have what I came for) and try to come back later (is coming back even possible?) . Thanks a lot.

Thanks. I was roleplaying and figured my character would visit the closest planet first... Anyway, I'll let him live - for now.

Another suggestion is to try to disable him - stasis, concussion grenades etc. Or even just three thermal detonators under him :)
Seriously though, I had trouble occasionally with "boss" jedi even at medium levels because occasionally they go on crazy draining sprees and immense force use. Then again, when you reload you kill them with three or four attacks.

I don't know how much help this will be, but if you have a fair amount of VP (vitality points) you might try it. Sometimes when I was getting my backside kicked, I found suicide missions were quite efficient, meaning I just chucked a bunch of grenades and detonators at the Dark Jedi's feet without too much effort regarding running away. I know, I know... Worked just fine, though.

Yeah, the best thing to do would be to throw gernades at him. Before any of that though, you'll want to put on an energy sheild, preferably a verpine prtotype, then throw your lightsaber at him, if you have that power. BTW who did you have in your party at that point, if 2 other jedi, make sure one has heal and is weak, like jolee, and make the other go attack him, you can attack him also, but really you should throw stuff. If you have noon jedi, make sure you have on with melee and one with a blaster. Make rapid shots and power blasts. Canderous is great with either Melee or a blaster, so you can depend on him.

Or try taking Carth; Bastila and my character got killed once and Carth got rid of three Dark Jedi all by his itty bitty self. Phew. Now that was something. And there I was, always saying he's uncooperative.

Sorry about the spamming.

Try putting on a Rebreather Mask(Immunity to Poison) and then throwing poison grenades. :)

Thanks for all the tips. In the end, I found that he was susceptible to whirlwind, and down he went. It's funny how sometimes you just need to catch one lucky break (like a dark jedi master failing a save against whirlwind) and you've won the fight.

It's just as well. Once you leave the Sith base, you can't go back in. As I'm sure you've found out if you've beaten that master and tried to leave.
