Trial of Elders problem

Post by Quindaka »

I know there have been a couple threads dealing with combat in the last room of the trial of elders, but none really give any tips on how best to fight these spirits off. I've been trying for several days and cannot beat them. Unfortunately I don't have any saved games before entering the trial. I do have a saved game just before entering the last room so I keep getting killed and going back there. I saw the trick about being on a pedestal when the next wave appears and try to do that, but that doesn't seem to be helping me. I'm almost at the point of throwing in the towel! HELP!!

I was in the same boat my first time through the trial. My character was level 7, and beating those spirits at the end seemed hopeless. Fortunately, I had a save I could go back to, and so I was able to come back later when my character was stronger.

If you're stuck in the trial and have to complete it now, then realize that the spirits don't regenerate health. As long as you can keep damaging them before you die, then you can revive and fight again. Just open your character panel and spend all of your advancement points each time you revive.

Also, at the end, when only one spirit appears per wave, the spirit always uses the center platform, so if you stand there you can prevent any more spirits from arriving.

also keep in mind that the spells that they throw can hurt other spirits. what i do is run around the perimeter of the room and occasionally run through the center to hack at a few. usually in the process a few spells end up hitting some of the other spirits. move constantly is the key to staying alive. also don't forget to hotkey your health potions so you can gulp one fast.

You don't have to kill the mage in the gallery, but you do have to kill the spirits without loading your game, or else the trial will break.

Thank you for tip, beginning to think it might be easier to run around for 2 hours hitting the fire makers up stairs even though they keep changing position.

I think changing the camera perspective to as far as possible also helps. I used to swing my sword 3 -4 times at elven and then run/jump to the side the moment I saw a fireball comming my way. Invariably, it used to hit and burn the elven and weaken them
