Ellowyn and the ward

I killed the witch, but the ward is still up. How do I remove the ward?

I haven't gotten here yet but did you get a ring from Ellowyn? That i believe should help. But i would wait for someone who has played up to this part of the game to answer it properly.

Spoiler!!!

To remove to the ward, you have to destroy the gems (or stones, not sure which now) that you got from the witch, and from each small room connected to the main room. You do this by throwing them into the fire near Ellowyn.

I destroyed the orbs before killing the witch and the ward is still there.

you also get an orb from the witch when you kill her. That one must be destroyed as well
