OK - I just did EVERYTHING in the vale of ruin...
It wasn't as hard as I had hoped, I'm lvl 20 now, though - which is nice.
Thank god for celestial summons to make life easy in tedious spots...
ANYHOW.
You are to place whatshisnames blood at the unholy arc - I did that and nothing happened.
So I cleaned out the Temple of Draedoth - hoping that might trigger something.
Now - afterwords - I went back to the unholy arc and it let me 'reacquire' and place whathisnames blood vial at the arc again - and nothing happened again.
So I went to the watcher/temple of souls (I have the valkyra quest that tells you what to say to it) and I cannot enter.
Did I miss a step along the way?
I see on the map something about a cabalist in the vale of ruin - however I found nothing. I thought I looked dilligently - perhaps I'm wrong, though.

Wow - Q+A in games is standard practice. That's a horrible job that a showstopper happens at such a point in the game.

u have to talk to the messenger at the unholy arc before u can enter the tomb of souls. save before placing the blood, wait for messenger to show up, try standing in different spots to see if this helps (try north and to the right of unholy arc first), if messenger gets stuck in trees, reload and try again.
at tomb of souls, look for "watcher to pop up, stop, talk" because if u go straight to the door, u won't be allowed to enter because u didn't talk to watcher.
The 2nd patch corrects the problem with the messenger and should be out in abt a week if Q&A went okay.
