Viekang SPOILER!!!!!!

Post by Shados_Draconio »

ok, in trademeet, you meet someone named Viekang. He's in the tavern. Well, I got to Trademeet and was gonig to get my party to rest to get spells back, hp, etc... well, this guy speaks to everyone but my char. the moment I come into sight, he dies. or teleports or something.

He's a Bhaal-spawn. I know that. but is there anything you can get form him or can you stop him from dieing? Anything?

No, you cannot put him in your party and he will teleport away. But in TOB you meet him again later and can do a quest with him. Post back if you want to know what the quest is.

And just remember, if you say spoiler in the title, you don't have to do it in black.

I am going with my gut on this one. If i post it, it'll be in black just in case. I'm not looking for trouble.

Forgot something.
am not looking to bring him into my party. Just don't want him to die. want to know if there's anything to steal from him, stuff to get from him, etc.

No, there is nothing to be gained from him, but in ToB there is, so make sure he teleports away because I'm not sure if the quest triggers otherwise. Fable will not get you in trouble for posting in a normal colour if the thread title says spoiler, because the person has already been warned.

And, no, the meeting in ToB is not affected by your actions in Trademeet. If you think about it, that logically must be true because it is possible to start the game directly in ToB without playing through SoA.

As you might have learned if you had played BG1 (in which you were essentially involved in a deathmatch with another Child of Bhaal), all Bhaalspawn are destined to become involved in a battle of supremacy. Most people who have heard Alaundo's prophecy believe that the last Bhaalspawn standing will inherit all of Bhaal's powers. (Whether or not that is true remains to be seen when you play Throne of Bhaal. Let's just say that you will meet a lot of "brothers and sisters" in Throne of Bhaal, and many of them will try to kill you.) So...how do you expect other Bhaalspawn to react when they bump into your character? Some of them might challenge you openly, while others will run away in terror. That is Viekang's inclination...sort of. Your own Bhaalspawn character has special powers, and Viekang has one of his own: whenever he sees another Bhaalspawn, he becomes so frightened, he automatically teleports away. He doesn't like it, but it's a reflex and he can't stop himself from doing it. How would you feel if you had just settled down and then you were suddenly transported to some strange new place you'd never been to before? That's the story of Viekang's life.

Since you've been told that you will meet Viekang in Throne of Bhaal and he won't teleport away, you might be asking yourself why he doesn't. Why not, indeed? :) It's an interesting situation, and you'll have to see it for yourself.

Yeah, I didn't think it would be affected, however I wasn't too sure, same as if you kill him.

I could not have summarised that better VonDondu, well done :) .
