Nalia question, give you're opinion!

Post by Stilgar »

I've started a new game as an inquisitor to go nto TOB, and i currently have in my party minsc, jaheira, aery and jan and Valygar (later mazzy).
But i'm thinking of taking Nalia, but is she anygood? As a thief she sucks, nut as a mage?
I heared she's the best mage after edwin, is this true?
I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.

After Edwin and Imoen, she is. IMO

Considering you have the opportunity to get and level up Nalia long before you get ahold of Imoen again she could be much more effective than Imoen later in the game.

She's a very good mage, but you have to put up with her annoying "personality".......

I'd suggest keeping Jan over Nalia. After all, you need an excellent thief more than you need another mage (since you've got Aerie), and Jan is the best thief around. Imoen's an acceptable thief, but her skills all around are better than Nalia's; so I'd suggest Jan for now, then choosing between Imoen or Jan, later. Just my two cents.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

i've been a rather vocal supporter of nalia, she can be very good.

rather "unfortunate" bit of voice acting though, her soundset is much better in tob...

With a couple magic items (rings/gloves) you can get through the game with ANY thief. Stock up on the Knock spell for the things they can't open, and you're set. Given that, you should go with who makes the best mage - not thief. Besides, Imoen is a better thief and I always dump Nalia for her at that point anyway.

Aerie is not really a replacement for Nalia. She will be waaay behind in levels, and will miss out on the most powerful spells (in SoA).
