For all the Bioware game series and all similar games I play, I prefer to make my first character a wizard (with all weapon feats!), that way you get to see every spell and stuff in the game!
Not in the case of NWN obviously, but still.
Sorceror is for people that are: lazy, noobish, lacking playing time, wanting to h/s, trying to speedlvl
Wizard is for people that are: pro, pvp, elite, rp
Hello forums!
Wizard or Sorceror?

A very confrontational view, and I'd advice you to think about what and how you post.
Calling people who prefere to play the sorcerer for thoese things, is very close to trolling, something which we don't want to see on GameBanshee.
So watch the language please.

I should explain, I am refering to those people as one of those things.
e.g. newbies, people that play <5 hrs a week, or don't feel like exploring everything in the game could choose the sorcerer. As could h/sers and people wanting to powerbuild a lot of high lvl chars in a short time.
Is that better?

You can't say that everyone who chose sorc is lazy. Infact, you can't say that anyone is lazy when playing a sorc unless you prove it. This is not a flaming, I'm just stating the facts.

Yeah, what makes you think that? I prefer wizards myself for the extra feats and skills, yet your reasoning so far is completely irrational.
People without a lot of time to play games and not wanting to explore the whole game could choose any character. I don't play all that often, in fact, I've got all the expansions and I've yet to beat any of them and I've had the game since last year. It's just as easy for a person with a wizard to simply pick two or three spells per spell level to load up on to cause massive damage with as it is for a sorcerer. In fact, for sacrificing a few spells per day, they can do quite a bit more if made right and tear through the game faster IMO. Yet, there's always that spot where you'll stumble into something you weren't expecting and have the wrong spells memorized and wish you were a Sorc instead.

Oh please guys, I did not say everyone who play a sorceror is lazy. Instead what I really said was if you are lazy you should choose to play a sorceror, there is a subtle difference
Obviously I was only comparing between wizard and sorceror
And if you are a wizard that chooses two spells per level and casts them with abandon, then you are a sorceror, or at least a sorceror wanna-be. Again, I refer to wizard and sorceror meaning the way they are designed to be played.

You are threading in thin waters here.
When I played NwN I had a lot of time to play. I'm a roleplayer "by heart" in RPGs, and I want to explore everything in games, and I (which you'll find out by reading this forum) certainly do not care for powerbuilds. I choosed a sorcerer as my main character.
So unless you can back up your views of

I'm not implying that sorcerer is for lazy players, but it sure takes at least some time to handle your spellbook etc. with wizard. Your quickslots also get full very quickly, so you have to use the radial menu for casting some spells. So sorcerer may be indeed a better choice for casual players. I've never minded those issues though, since I've played a lot of the older D&D games. Sorcerer was a refreshing change to the always same spellbook/memorizing way of the old magic-users.

Seeing as this thread began with the question of what is better between sorcerer and wizard, I merely listed some of the things one can consider themselves to be to play sorcerer. Not meaning one has to meet those qualifications.
But I withdraw, and would add that I certainly did not mean to express sorcerer as inferior to wizards (being a sorc. player myself)
