mage guild quest - where is rianne the wiccan?

so i'm supposed to return the staff of scorching to rianne the wiccan. that's alll my quest log says.

i've checked the walkthrough here - it says "see the classes section for details."

i've checked the classes section. the base classes have nothing about their quests there.

i've searched the forum. zip.

so... where the heck do i GO?

ok, i found her.

in case anybody else gets similarly stuck and searches here:

out the west gate (towards arindale), hang a right at the sign for bolen fields, proceed past the sign for the celestial shrine, turn right at the sign for the dread marsh, go to the end of the road, make a slight left and barge through the swamp. try not to get stuck on a tree root. she's at the end, in a hut, with soup.

Just a note: You'll find this sort of thing in the game a lot. So it's a good idea to write stuff down when people give you quests, because the quest log isn't always a lot of help.

Eventually I'll add a guild / class section to the walkthrough that shows where everybody is.

Qiuck question regarding this Staff, I belive i must have sold it because i do not have it any longer. any idea if it is supposed to show up in the inventory or is a ghost item (i really hope its a ghost item because i wll be stuck with a empty slot for my unfinnished Mage Guild.) But atleast i will know where to look now.. I ran into the problem of not writting down quest Info untill i realized the game does a poor job of giving you details after the fact in the quest log, I love this game but it is beggining to drive me batty wit all the things they left out that i kinda come to expect outta a game these days..

If you haven't solved the quest, and the staff is gone, then you most probably have sold it. Go look around the merchants in Fargrove, it will stay with the merchant you've sold it to. Lets hope you haven't drop it.

A little trick for forgetful people. If you talk again to the person who gave you the Quest (in this case Mage Alestair) and click on the name of the person in the quest in the dialog options, he will repeat the instructions on how to get there (in most cases).
