Mazzy and the Copper Coronet (SPOILERS)
Mazzy and the Copper Coronet (SPOILERS)
I have read in many threads that the Festule Potion is used in a mini-quest involving Mazzy in the Copper Coronet. I have been through the game several times already yet have not been able to do this. I've tried both before and after completing her Trademeet quest and I'm not running across anyone who wants to challenge her. I had her walk all over the CC and talk to everyone both inside and out. Does this only happen in a Mod-enhanced game (I'm not running any)? Do I have to have her on a certain level? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Ramius, please put SPOILER in thread titles that give away game content as you've done. I'll change this one--after that, you're on your own.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
In a normal game, Mazzy is challenged outside the Copper Coronet by a character named Gorf the Squisher (whose specialty is "squishy hits" that make people go squishy). I can't remember what triggers his appearance; I think it occurs automatically if Mazzy is in your party.
If I'm reading the script correctly, I think Gorf only appears between 3:00AM and 3:00PM. To spawn him into action, try going to a different part of the city and then return to the Slums between 3:00AM and 3:00PM. If he's still not there, you could try using cheat codes.

I didn't know about the time constraints, but I have had problems with this quest as well. Even if you talk to Gorf outside, sometimes the required events will not fire inside the Copper Coronet that make the NPCs appear that you need to talk to. This might all be related to the time of day, but I think this is a pretty buggy script. Don't worry about it too much if you can't get it to work.

It's just frustrating. I'm one of those gamers who needs to find and do all the lil things in a game. I've accomplished most everything that I can in SOA-TOB yet can't seem to get to this. I've spent two game days trying to figure this out. I've tried in the daytime, night, going in one door out the other, vice-versa, selling items, buying items (at this point I really don't need anything), sleeping in the inn, talking to everyone etc. I only need to complete the Unseeing Eye Quest and face off with Kangaxx to complete chapter 2. I'd rather do this already so I can move on. The only thing left that I can think of is dropping the Festule Potion in one of the containers in the CC, leave the Slums, and come back.
I can't think of any reason why the NPCs in the Guarded Compound would have Festule's potion. You're supposed to get it from Festule himself after Mazzy meets Gorf. I suspect there's a bug in your game.
Why don't you try Gebhard Blucher's fix, which you can find on his homepage. Look for GORF.ZIP.

I've always found it in the GC in the Temple District. I pick it up in one of the rooms I believe. This is my eigth walkthrough and I've always found it just never had the chance to do anything with it (like alot of the junk I pick up and keep in the Den of Seven Vales). If it helps you at all, I do the GC as part of the "Free" Nalia mini-quest. After I go through the Docks and the Roenall Estate, one of the letters you find refers to a "Guarded Compound". So before I go to hiss boss with the evidence I head to the Temple District. I know what you mean about quirks in the game though. I've never been able to put items in the Wolf pelt but I've seen other players be able to do it.
Well then, to add to what I said above, I can't think of any reason why Festule's potion would be anywhere inside the Guarded Compound. I took a look at the original game with nothing but the official patch installed, and I didn't see it in any of the containers inside the compound.
I don't think that merely having the potion in your inventory is causing problems with the script. I still think you have some sort of bug.

Did you try the above suggestion and drop the potion/remove it from your inventory. Because if you do have it, that would be contributing to why it would not work. I would say drop the potion because you have nothing to lose, and everything to gain.
