Nvidia Soundstorm

Post by Silver Knight »

I recently upgraded my motherboard from an Epox 8RDA+ to an Abit NF7S. Both have Nvidia Soundstorm onboard audio.

On upgrading I reinstalled Windows XP from scratch and I'm using Nvidia's latest integrated drivers and a set of Logitech X230 speakers and subwoofer.

The onboard sound worked perfectly on the Epox board. Unfortunately, no matter what audio settings I use on the new board, the entire sound output, including sub base, is directed through the left speaker. I does not seem to be possible to get proper stereo output

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Do you have any advanced programs that could configure sounds (SoundMAX, etc.)? Try using them.

Update

If you just installed XP you also need to run window update including directx drivers. Directx is involved with audio and video so it can't be ignored.
