Cant get to Morpheous

Every time I try to reach Morpheous at the Cathedral...the damn nightkin always attack me. I even have the COC robes on, and a COC badge after Lasher said it was alright for me to see him.
What's the deal?

it's because either you run next to a nightkin which then they will attack you
or you are carrying a weapon

and else try to sneak behind them

There not supposed to attack me! I've done it before where I could even talk to the Nightkin...now no matter what...they just automatically strike.
This makes no sense. I dont have any weapons on me and it's impossible to sneak by them because their standing so close to the stairs.
What did I do wrong?

NEVERMIND!
I figured it out. It's because you cant have any NPC's with you...not even Dogmeat.
