Paladins and the Drinking contest

Post by bariumdose »

Has anyone tried this to do the drinking contest quest and avoid getting their paladin to fall? Will a paladin still fall if he's unaware of the activities of his other teammates?

Find a quiet spot where you can do nonlethal damage to your paladin until he falls unconscious. Or, cast some spell that puts him to sleep or otherwise incapacitates him. Then complete the drinking contest with another player. Will the paladin still fall? I've not tried this yet.

The fall is apparently linked to the reputation your party gets upon completing the quest, so his being unconscious should not make any difference.

Darn! Oh, well, maybe just kill the paladin, complete the drinking contest, and then cast a "raise dead" spell on him?

Possible, I guess, but if he's still in your party when you get the rep, my guess is he'll fall, dead or not. You could drop him through the register, then add him, and that might work, but then he'd revert to his starting status. You could artificially set his experience back to pre-drop levels with the console, though. Lot of work for a silly quest, though.
