What a way to kill the Unseeing Eye...

Post by Nizidramanii'yt »

I'm pretty low-level just 10-11.
On normal difficulty...
Well anyway i was pretty annoyed at having my mages level-drained by wraiths...and having to re-memorize my spells... and Jan with his tiny health had succumbed to the ettercap vile poisons even though i had slowed poison 3 times...so i decided to take viconia on a suicide mission...
I started turning undead and soon had 5 shadows following me around...
Viconia had to take care of the vampiric mists since the shadows couldn't damage them...
And then i faced Gaal the priest of the Unseeing Eye with his host of guards..Fortunately they cast Summon Skeleton so i turned those against them too...
But not before they had cast some low-level beneficial spells on them...
So i had about 6 skeletons and 5 shadows kill them...
Which left me with like 1 shadow and 2 skeletons against ....Tadaaah...The Unseeing Eye himself...
Which is (and this is where it gets really interesting)...more than enough to kill the mighty Unseeing Eye since he can't damage the shadow...
How about that....I just thought i'd share this with the community

That's a good one.

Usually people go overkill against the Eye (like rift device plus ring of ram, which kills nearly every killable creature on Toril), your method seems far more elegant.

Even better i found out he is weapon ineffective against Jaheira's Fire elemental...since having shadows meant you had to confront him directly thus bypassing the ghoul city and the beholder lair...
Not really meant to sound smart.I'm posting this with newer players in mind...

How funny. All I did to kill the Unseeing Eye was attack him with the weapons that I had (my main guy, a cleric, has Crom Faeyr, and I also had Chloe, who has some pretty awesome weapons), and at the last possible moment I used the rift device. I actually used the device the same time that Jaheira killed the Unseeing Eye. It ended up saying that I had used the Rift Device, and that the strongest opponent that Jaheira had killed was the Unseeing Eye.
I wanted to change my sig, but I can't think of anything to change it to :(

Yes, the rift device does not actually kill anything. What it does is take the target down to 10% of their health. So it would have lowered the health to barely anything, and then Jaheria did enough damage to kill it.
In memorian: Fiona; Ravager; Lestat; Phreddie; and all of those from the 1500 incident. Lest we forget.

Interesting...that implies that its weapon is either low level magic (+1) or normal. One or the other should make a Kensai/Mage able to smash it with or without the device, without taking any damage (really, this would work with any mage...but a Kensai type would kill it faster).

Why a Kensai/Mage?

Anyway, the Unseeing Eye's main ability is it's unbelievable spell abilities, not it's physical attacks. Still this is one of the most inventive ways of killing the Unseeing Eye I've ever heard of.

sounds very inventive, kudos! but just out of interest does this method deny any of the exp. for the quest? ie. not using the rift device and then not having the old god bloke (illmater or amuanator or whoever) destroy it.
