gathering to play bg2?

Post by reddkey »

So does anyone have a regular group together that plays bg2 online?

I've played NWN online, and mastered someones persistent world they built, but it is pretty lame, I would like to blaze through bg2, or icewind dale with some folks. Any gathering sites for players?

I don't know of any groups, but I might be interested to start one, depending on how often you want to play.
Since you can also pick up NPCs or just go through with 3 or 4 chars, basically it'd be possible to play with any number of players (<=6, obviously). The only thing to discuss would be which mods to install.

never heard of those groups :P

but it doesn't appeal to me anyway since both got other minds on how to play

how to kill and most of all how to spend time

I rather play solo ;)

I don't know about any groups of online BG2 players.

I've played BG2 2 times in MP (With a friend and with a guy from GameBanshee's forum) and I must admit that is it very fun and challenging. The only problems we encountered :

- You have to debate with your mate(s) wich mods should/shouldn't be installed,
- You need similars schedules

true. although it makes the micromanagement far easier as you can trust the intelligence of the guys you're playing with (for the most part)

Little advice for pausing in MP :

Since pausing can be annoying when 2 persons try to pause the game... I would suggest you to check the following auto-pause options :

- End of round
- Trap detected
- Enemy in sight

You can, of course, check the others, but that's a matter of taste.

P.S. If you're searching for someone to play online with, I might be interested :D

well lets get something together then.

I know of a site (free) where hundreds of gamers gather to play, post by post, dnd,...perhaps we could set up shop there with an infinity engine section, and maybe even set up tourneys and an ongoing game where parties of players could compete against each other.

I am up for this, or to set up a game with anyone who'd like to roll. Send me a private post through gamebanshee...and I'll tell you the website.

Thanks.

I would also be interested in playing in such a group. I know this game very well. What site is that you were referring too?

the site is http://www.rpol.net, but if you know of a better one to meet up at let me know.

It is in the Fantasy Section under the title "Infinity Engine Tourney"

That is really just a ruse to get peoples attention, I would love to get a party together and do SOA again in multiplayer.

I had one other person that sent me a pm that was interested in playing.

so, hopefully see you there.

Shadows of Amn, multiplayer anyone?

I've of late been messin' with the multiplayer functions. So far I think I've got the hang of it.

I've been researching online play with this game with no success. I believe the only way to get a SoA online game going is by dedicated punctuality.

I'm sending this call out to all dedicated BGII players out there?

I can set up your character in the game for you. You'll just have to send me your character file or saved game via e-mail and I can import that into the session. I'd need to pre-load everyones character before starting the game of course.

Please if there are any dedicated players out there, even if you're just curious about multiplayer online, lets toss some emails about?

What do you think?
