Heya, my main character is a Dwarven Fighter/Adept/Maurder/Celestial/Deathmaster
I was wondering what kind of class would be a good match for a Samuri? =)
I want him to be able to use magical weapons, so its going to be either an Adept or a Mage based class - Normally i would go adept, for the healing and prots - but i noticed that for a samuri to advanced to his/her Third and final class, he needs Arcane magic 5 (even though the requirments dont actually work at the moment, this made me wonder whether the class was meant to be a fighter/mage)
The requirements seem a little random to me. I mean, the Lord class requires rune magic, and how is that supposed to make sense?
So I'd say just play whatever class combination sounds good to you... except that I suspect a samurai/adept is going to play a lot like a marauder/adept, and so it might be better to put a rogue or a mage with your samurai instead. Or play a female, and try out the Sisterhood classes.

I played a samurai cabalist mix that seemed to work pretty well, although I was not able to use the heavier weapons I still did decent damage in melee with the dual wield and had fairly decent nether magic to fall back on. Got too disapointing to see all these nice weapons I couldn't use without a penalty so I ditched this character about halfway through the game.
Right now I am playing a human female that is mage/adept/sorcerer/valkyrie/wizard. Finding it to be a very good combo, can use heavy weapons/armor/shields/pole weapons, and has learning bonuses for all of that and all magic in addition to getting scribe and spellfire. It seems harder to raise the other magic types over arcane and nether even though they have bonuses, same thing with heavy weapons and heavy armor. By accepting the first part of the war witch quest as well as both quests to become wizard I was able to get a full compliment of heraldry(even though they don't work properly) to give bonuses to all magic types. Good melee, and getting 60 damage fireballs and 48ish damage magic missiles as well as 3 damage per tick on poison cloud. After patch I hope to remake this character and possibly chose elven female instead so I can be smarter sooner and not spend so damn much on the skills overall. Then again if venom weapons and inflict wounds, steal, etc are implemented and working properly then I'll have to come up with something new. Like a Budoka/ninja lord for steal/ninjutsu with samurai for the inflict wounds or something.
