Naga temple, a good fight and a fast run

Post by Chaos »

bah... All i can find in the forbidden lands is the celstial shrine and Staroxias Tower - I cant find naga temple.... Even though i followed directions on the gamebanshee map... for a while it seemed like i was going in the right direction but i was suddenly attacked by about 4 of bears, a war troll, two gobbo warlocks and a pack of wolves, some channlers and a bunch of spiders (ive got settings on extra encounters) after a long grusome fight, i killed them all... but quite a few of my potions had been used and i used up my healing cyrstls.

I may have got spun around at some point during the fight. I ran in what im 80% sure was the right direction ... but i got ambushed by some spiders... then a Fire Drake popped up and i ended up having to run (as i was almost out of healing and my freezing axe couldnt quite get the flying dragon - and everytime it did, the spiders hit me, which stopped my attacks on the dragon, allowing it to decorate me in pretty flames.)

I ended up by a locked abanded, deserted warehouse (well, deserted save from a mad Dwarf running away from 8-9 spiders and a fire Drake and some gobbos) I couldnt help but wonder whats inside?

i manged to kill the spiders and gobbos by placing myself between them and the dragon so that the dragon burnt them instead of me - After some more running i was back at the Shrine of celestial light.

Where the Brell's Naga temple? :)

From the shrine (which is in the extreme south east on the world map) look north. Walk to the mountain ridge and start walking westwards. Keep the mountains on your right hand. Eventually you will come to the black swamp and the road. Take the road (in a north direction) to the second intersection.

Turn west and keep going until you hit the end of the road. Go north in the swamp until you can't go any further. Go west until you can't go further, then go south. Thats it!

FWIW, the warehouse is Sleth's Safehouse. It's used in a Guild of Mystery quest. If you ever end up back there, it's located at the southern edge of the "squashed bug" south of the Sagathian Moors.

If you've turned up the random encounter difficulty, maybe you should turn it back down until you've reached the temple.

I alway stock up my potions (normal and greater healing) at Elvithra's the first time I reach there. At least 100 normal and as much as I can spend (I sold all the rat tails and snake skins and wolf manes and spider yolks to get the fund). Then I'll never have to buy any potions any more. I usually can rely solely on the normal potions till the last part of the game, since they are the easiest to collect along the way.

Man, you don't have to buy potions, I haven't bought a silngle, and ended the game having app. 500 normal, 200 enchanced; try using celestial magic or kill more goblins/elves - they drop potions.

Plenty of potions to be had in the skirmishes, and by all means turn down your Enemy Encounters to Normal.

I periodically bought as many Blast Novas as I could afford through out the game. This took care of those onslaughts of wolves, spiders, etc. It takes about two or three to wipe out a wolf pack and forty-four for a Fire Drake. I used the Celestial Ward Off Fire and then Celestial Lightening for many of those drakes. Freezing is good too, or the bow at a safe distance.

Btw, if you want to pile up a lot of XP's, just stand outside of Skuldoon's West Gate and sooner or later a bunch of every type will come along. There is a little buffer zone between the gate and the two stone pillars that most of the time they will not cross, they just stand there. You can then pick them off using whatever style you prefer. The stone pillars make great cover for ranged attacks. Using Normal Enemy Encounters I got over two million XP's just in one night and half a day, that is game time not real time. It included three instances of Drakes, some Borloths, a few Trolls, Chunnelers, Wolf Packs, Goblins, Ninja, Thieves, Spiders, Snakes, Bees, etc.

Every once in a while I trek down there to pile up more XP's. Hunting Fire Drakes near Arindale is good too.

blast nove is the best spell so far, some critters are imune to fire nova or ice nova (I just faught the Pox Witch for Warwitch class, she is inmune to both fire and ice), but none is inmune to blast nova. 1 blast can cause 60~70 damage, some times even more.

The thing with those spells is that they are so expensive! I just now finished the trial of the elders. My most powerfull spell is fireball (40 damage or so a pop). But I only have 3 of them.

So far I am liking the mage character although I frequently fall back to melee.

I guess my next char is going to a be a pally.

things will be better when they implemented the Junk function in the next patch (if it will ever come out). You'll have plenty of cash to spare. If you really need some quick cash for now, you can go mage hunting (their staves can be sold for 1 or 2k golds) or try the arena in Skuldoon (kill the critters, sell of the weapon/shield they drop, you'll normally get enough to cover the ticket and have some extras to keep). The 200 gold ticket may give you a chance to kill goblin mages.

For cash and spells try the slum district in fargrove. You'll be attacked by witches fairly often who'll drop spells. Be sure to drop by the shop there to sell the stuff after every encounter if it doesn't stack.
Mix your nether katals in to spells before selling them to increase their value.
I have found that evrything is cheaper to buy, and I get more $ for everything I sale in Arindale. Example, giant mace you get from arena in skuldoon I can sale for 2000 + in skuldoon and sale it for 4000+ in Arindale. I play a human ,by the way, but the elves still pay me more then the humans. D
