2 Questions

Post by Caden »

I've broken out the old KOTOR to play again. But I have a couple questions. I've never made a character as a soldier or guardian. I usually pick Counselor as my jedi to make up some of the force points I missed out on getting in the earlier levels but seeing as how I'm going guardian this time I estimate my guy will only get 48 force points, and that's once I'm at max level. I can't remember, but will that be enough?

Also as a soldier, I'm getting extra features and I've been leveling Flurry and Power Strike. I can't seem to find a purpose for having two of these. I prefer Flurry, but soldier starts with power strike. Do I really need to invest in getting level 3 Flurry and Power Strike or should I go for just one and maybe Critical strike also? Basically which of the three should I get and how many? Which ones are better for which types of weapons? Has anyone figured this out?

I don't know the exact stats but I like to invest points in all three. And get master for them. And as gardian that will be enough force powers because unlike consler you dont rely on your powers you rely on strenght. Witch the soilder/gaurdian has. :)

It just doesn't seem nessesary to have flurry and power strike, but I could be wrong and that is why I'm here asking if these features are situational. You should use flurry at this time or you should use power strike when fighting this type of baddie.

I've pretty much decided not to go the way of the critical strike feature. It seems to be best used by a single lightsaber user, opposed to a duel-wielder or double blader and I think I will use Double blade this time.

I forgot that there were short lightsabers meant to use in the off hand and if I find myself enjoying a lightsaber in main hand and short lightsaber in off hand then I might use that instead of double blade.

Go all three levels on Flurry. It's worth it, IMO.

Sounds good. It does say to use power attack on easy to hit foes, but it seems flurry goes vs anyone.

I find that the most important thing to do in combat in KotoR 1/2 is to attempt to hit the enemy as often as you can. So anything that raises the number of strikes you can get in to an enemy vs the number of strikes they can make at you, is to your advantage. The only time I didn't use Flurry was when I faced an extremely seasoned vet. In that case, the slight loss of defenses that resulted from Flurry 3 was too much to take, and I resorted to regular attacks with the aid of hyper boosts.

Yeah, i've found flurry to be good against all foes. Personaly I never really liked going from a that to a gaurdian, and I don't remember what I did.
