Why can't I find a Moonbeast/Moonstone?

I have been to the "Lost Lake" Islands 3 separate times but a Moonbeast never shows up. Do I have to visit all regions before he will show up? I'm at level 12 so far and have been to over half of the areas so far. I have the 1st patch installed and haven't noticed any bugs yet (unless this is one). Thanks for any help.

You shouldn't have to do anything special to get a moonbeast to appear. Just hang out at the big island (the one with the shrine on it) and wait for random encounters.

It can take more than one encounter with moonbeasts to get a moongem. Of course, the ADV points are nice, but even that gets old after a while.

Just round around the island in a circle and eventually the moonbeasts will appear. They usually come in pairs so watch out!

Found my Problem

I was waiting around the wrong place, the altar of light (or something like that).
You need to be at the island with the "Shrine of Celestial Power" and hang out there for awhile.
