Lay me some skin.
Hi, Borsook,
This question was answered in another thread, but I'll answer it here.
The manual doesn't explain this very well, but, basically, you need to target the party member first THEN select Lay on Hands from the radial menu.
So, first make sure you selected ur paladin. Then move ur cursor to the party member u want to heal and right click so that a target line is drawn from the paladin to the targeted player. Then select Lay on Hands with the radial menu.
This method of targeting also seems to work for other spell effects, like Cure spells, as well as the Smite Evil feat that ur paladin can use. So if a spell doesn't seem to do anything on a target, do the right click and then select the spell or feat.
Hope this helps.

Indeed, some people don't have this problem. For some (myself included), when they select lay on hands, they get a wand icon that they can use to select a party member. However, this general method of targeting works for all manner of things, and should be the first thing you try if you're having problems with targeting. Right-clicking while hovering over an enemy and then selecting full attack, for instance, will result in your character attacking the enemy over which you had hovered (assuming you're within range). You need to be careful whenever right-clicking to hover on the proper character, or you may end up swinging at the wrong guy.
