72?!?!?! I must see this to believe it! Perhaps a high lvl monk with bracers of AC, dodge, expertise, a potion, perhaps a buff from a high lvl cleric/wizard -- sorry, but 72 is impossible. Bonuses from items and spells do not stack - the higher is counted.
The recipe is - good armor, dodge, expertise, cleric buffs, wizard buffs, perhaps a potion - it is not hard! ;)

@Brynn: can you make one powergaming strategy threat sticky for all questions concerning AC & powergaming parties and merge some of the older threads concerning these issues - as I posted this already for several times!

back on topic:

72 is definetly possible - even a higher AC!

easiest way (but there are other combinations possible):

- a DG with at least one monk level, enough Wiz level to get tensers and cleric levels!

- (you can choose another race but then you should go for tensers or choose an DG and only use 5 wiz levels or AC 72)

- or you have a level 12 bard in your party!

- you need to max DEX and WIS!

- you have to use several potions/items giving permanent WIS boni or natural armour!

- you could choose a cleric of Bane or take a PAL level to get quest boni on WIS!

calculation:

10 - Basic AC
07 - DEX (24 with cats grace or slippers - up to 30 with tensers - 10)
13 - WIS (with quests, potion, ring and maxed out stats 36+)
----
30 - basic & stat boni

05 - expertise (13 INT needed)
----
05 - feats

03 - sunfire talisman
05 - bands (from wandering village)
----
08 - items

07 - shield (armor)
06 - divine shell (deflection)
04 - haste (generic)
----
17 - spells

60 - total - basic these are more or less the must have to get to AC 72+!

01 - dodge
03 - crows nest (1 rogue level needed)
05 - barkskin (natural) cast from level 12 druid
07 - tensers (04 generic) + 2D4 DEX
04 - DG racial boni
----
20 - most important optional AC available (there are still a few more, I didn't mention)

80 - total - to get to 72 you can even skip some of the optionals to avoid very strange builds!

If you want three fighters and not to worry about armor class, then do it.

The best thing you can do then is have a couple of priests to go along with the fighters. The more healing power, the better. Of course, a priest is also a viable fighter class in ID 2, so with 2 fighter sub classes (Fighter, Paladin, Barbarian, Ranger) you can add two priests (Helm for AC bonus and another of any sort). You still have two slots for a mage and a mage/rogue.

As far as feat suggestions goes, always take dodge and if you have the intelligence, expertise. Since you don't plan on going into heart of fury mode, that combination should be enough to get you through.

Where are these Bands? I've never seen them on offer in the Wandering Village! Are they for sale from someone?
