Can't get back in the keep! *minor spoilers*

Post by Cygnus »

I have a dual class Kensai/Mage. I finished the keep quest, told Nalia I didn't want the responsibility yet, finished the Planar Sphere quest, and came back and told Nalia I would take the keep. I continued questing for a little while and then the words "There is money in your keep." appeared above my head. When I went back to the keep the drawbridge was up and I couldn't find the secret passage I used to get into the keep the first time. The keep entry is still in my journal. Could the problem be that I accepted the keep before I talked to the Coweled wizard in the planar sphere? Any advice?

Also, I experienced a bug that put me back a couple hours of playing time so I'd like to give everyone a "heads up." I was in the graveyard before talking to Bohdi during the day. I went into the Crypt King's tomb (the tomb right next to Bohdi's lair) and, after defeating him, it became night. Bohdi appeared in the Crypt and, after I talked to her, the screen turned black. Instead of appearing in front of Bohdi's crypt, we were still in the Crypt King's tomb. Bohdi never opened the door to her lair so I was unable to get in. Hope that saves someone some frustration.

Hm, if you don't open the drawbridge when you free the keep, it'll stay up...

Here is the area codes..

AR1302 This the first floor of the keep.

*AR1306 This the first floor of the keep after you get it as your stronghold.

I don't know if you need to add the * or not.

I opened the drawbridge when I was assaulting the keep to let the "reinforcements" in. The problem most likely occured when the map turned over from "troll occupied" to "post-troll occupied." I may have left the keep using the secret door the last time I was in it. Any solution?

Weasel: I'm assuming you are referring to using a game editor or the cheat codes in some capacity. I have never played around with this. I will use it if it will help me to experience the rest of the keep quests without ruining anything. What, specifically, do I need to do?

I got my self kicked out of the keep on purpose to see what would happen. The bridge was raised but the secret door was still there. I clicked on it to open it and it opened but it would not let me enter.
You might try checking for the door again. It is real easy to overlook it.

Actually that is an interesting thing, I see where the secret door is, it is open. But I cannot click on it to get in.

Weasel: So you are saying that if I enable debug mode, and type CLUAConsole:MoveToArea("AR1300") in the console I will be transported into the keep and will be able to do the keep quests. I will be able to disable debug mode after that right?

I believe it going to be..

CLUAConsole:MoveToArea("*AR1306")

It really doesn't matter if you take Debug Mode=1 back out...the only time you use it is when you want too.

I have never tried to remove it ..but I don't see why you couldn't.

Make a copy of the file before you do this..Debug.

I'll give it a try. I would hate to miss out on the keep quests.

Make sure to make a copy of the save and the file where you put Debug Mode=1....that way if you have problems you have a backup.

Freshing this thread up again.
I'm playing a multiclass FTM, and went for the multiple strongholds with this character, cleared the keep, turned down Nalia, got the Shadow Thief Guild, then went back to Nalia to aquire the keep.
Now I pretty much have the same problem.

When I left the Keep for the first time, after turning Nalia down, the drawbridge went up, then as I returned, talked to her and got the keep, the screen went black, and next I was inside, as usual. When I tried to leave though, the drawbridge was up, and I had to extra open it, and actually have someone stand on it to keep it open while the char who opened it ran back down to leave too (it closed if I didn't do that).

Once I was outside, the bridge went up again, and I couldn't get back in  . At that time, I didn't think that was any bad, since I was leaving anyway.
Now, that I returned, I'm standing outside, without any chance to get in. The secret door is there, but I can't enter through it.

My suspicion in this case would be, because I'm multi-class, and already got a stronghold, so that it won't let me back in, but that is merely a shot into the blue, since I have no idea what could cause this.

If anyone has any ideas regarding this, preferably without cheating, I'd really like to hear them.

I've encountered the stupid drawbridge problem with a pure-class fighter, so it's not occuring because you're multi-class. However, I've only had it go up whenever I left the map. The only work-around I know of is using the cheats. You can use the MoveToArea cheat, or move your mouse cursor over the courtyard and press <CRTL> J. Within a few seconds, the selected party members will teleport to your cursor position.
There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.
