Tremere haven
Tremere haven
I'm playing as a tremere and finished the gargoyle quest without saying any thing to Isaac. But still won't get the new haven from strauss. Did I miss something?? Has anyone else encountered this.

Chantry Haven
You still have to talk to Isaac after dealing with the gargoyle. Just do not mention Strauss' involvement. Strauss won't give you the Chantry haven until the gargoyle quest is complete AND you haven't betrayed his secret to Isaac. Isaac is the one who gave you the quest, so he has to complete it. So, to reiterate: 1) Get quest. 2) Talk to Strauss. 3) Deal with the gargoyle. 4) Tell Isaac the gargoyle has been dealt with without mentioning Strauss. 5) Tell Strauss the gargoyle is dealt with. 6) Move into your new digs. Don't forget to collect all of your stuff (blood, knicknacks) from your old haven - they don't get moved automatically.
Oh, and I suppose I should mention that quests are handled by a state machine. Even if the quest shows up under 'complete', internally it's not actually completed until you have collected all bonuses due for the quest.
if I remember correctly, you have to complete "plague spreaders" quest for Camarilla/strauss or not?
I haven't played a Tremere before. Do you really have to finish the plaque quest besides playing on Strauss's good side and the gargoyle buisness in order to get the tremere haven? How about if you skip out on the plaque quest but did everything else right, like what the posters above have all suggested? Thanks to any who could help!

As far as I'm aware, the Gargoyle quest is the only one that has an impact on the Tremere Haven, but the Haven does bear every resemblance to a summary bonus - one that depends not just on one quest result, but on successful completion of several. I would be inclined to try to get the haven without completing the Plague Bearer quests, but I would also not be surprised if I failed.

Well, obviously not the *exact* order - I've taken some liberties with order myself, but from Shana's post, it would be reasonable to assume that the main-line quests have to be taken in at least approximately correct order, so the rule would be finishing the Plague Bearer quest before you get to Hollywood. I usually finish it before the Museum quest simply out of fear that after the Hunt is called on Nines, maybe Damsel will stop taking my calls. (Or maybe drag my keester physically out of Elysium and beat the liberal squishing tar out of me.)

Tremere haven / quest order

I'm replaying the game, this time with a Tremere character. I took care of the Plaguebearers the same way I'd done it in a previous game - talked to Damsel when I first went to see Nines at the Last Round - but before I went and met Maximillian Strauss. This seems to have screwed things up.
When I met him, Strauss mentioned the Plaguebearer issue as though it was still going on; one dialog option let me say that I'd already looked into it for the Anarchs. He chastised me for consorting with scum, and never mentioned the issue again. I went back to a saved game and did the meeting again, this time not mentioning the Anarchs, and again - no mentioning the issue. Neither version resulted in getting credit for solving the 'Plague of Angels' quest, though I'd already done all that was required. Strauss hasn't given me any quests since then (though I'm just beginning Hollywood), and I was hoping to get the chantry haven.
I took care of the Ninth Circle people very early in the game, and so it's not feasible for me to go back to that stage and replay. Any suggestions?

The order you visited them shouldn't mess anything up. First of all, did you actually completely finish the Plague quest (you fought all three vampires, concluding with Brother Vic, right?). If so, the problem may have been that you never convinced Strauss (I can't remember if this is a persuasion skill check or not; if so, it's low) that you could solve the quest on the sly for him too. That dialogue should have presented itself at some point. Quite frankly, if you've finished the quest, its probably too late for that now.
The next Strauss quest comes after you've done some minor fetch quests for the Baron of Hollywood, Isaac. Eventually, you'll have the option to ask Isaac about some problems he's having with his Chinese Theatre. The problem involved Gargoyles. You should have found a book on Gargoyles at the Tremere Chantry (if not, go back and check for it). You acquire the Tremere haven at the resolution of this quest (if you keep Strauss's confidence, etc.).
Honestly, I have no idea whether you have to complete the first quest for Strauss in order to get the haven. It's possible you do not. It may just be contingent on the gargoyle troubles. It shouldn't take you too long to find out for sure, regardless. Though, it still is unfortunate you did not comoplete the Plaguebearer quest for Strauss. It nets you a fairly nice magic item.

I'd bet that is precisely the case. It sounds like you talked to Damsel, completed the Plaguebearer quest, talked to Damsel again, and then talked to Strauss.
As any other bloodline, you have very little to directly gain from Strauss. As a Tremere, you want to be in the Pyramid and to do this you have to impress Strauss. You saw Strauss in the Trial. VV blew him a kiss and he blew her off. Literally. She is not Tremere.
He's Tremere - secretive and suspicious - especially of you, a Tremere Caitiff and probably alien to his experience. That means that you talk to him before you talk to Damsel and offer to take care of the Plague for him. Then you talk to Damsel, do the first Plaguebearer, talk to Damsel again, do the other two, then talk to Strauss first. Your ability to take care of the Plague is the first impression you make on him. You then take payment in the form of the 'item' instead of cash, further impressing Strauss. Then you talk to Damsel and go on your way.
After successfully completing the Gargoyle Removal Service quest, that makes three times you have impressed Strauss, and he will offer to take you into the Pyramid. The stricture of Sorcery is the Rule of Three: Thrice Spoken, Once Fulfilled.
It doesn't surprise me that he completely blows you off after the first gaffe. By not talking to him first, you made it mathematically impossible to get inside the Pyramid. After that, to him you're a loose cannon and not to be trusted. He must be confident that your allegiance is to the Clan and nowhere else.
Quite frankly, if you've finished the quest, its probably too late for that now.
Yeah, that's my worry. I did the full Plague quest without speaking to Strauss at all. Chances are that once there's a quest variable set a certain way on your character, he just won't follow the haven path with you. I'm going to be talking Isaac again soon, having done myriad other quests since finishing up his fetch & carry work, and perhaps the Chinese Theatre quest will solve the problem. Regardless, I'll post back here with details.
Thanks to you, and to yrthwyndandfyre for the very in-character reasoning. Found that quite entertaining (and likely accurate in a P&P game). Since I got Bloodlines in the first place after having played V:tM P&P since 1990, I can appreciate the description.
