spoiler, Reward Wise, which is better?

Post by rebel3_6_1 »

Ok, I'm playing through it again with an evil party. I'm thinking about working for Bodhi's guild this time, but I'm not sure if it's worth it. Does anyone remember the key items you get when you do each guild? I think I remember getting better stuff when I worked for the Theives Guild, and I don't want to give up a whole bunch of good gear just to do it the "evil way," as I think any evil party would be more than happy to work with the theives guild as well.

Frankly, you get the same stuff either way. The difference is when you get it, rather than getting the item immideatly, you get it later. The only difference is role-playing, so just go for whichever one suits you better.
In memorian: Fiona; Ravager; Lestat; Phreddie; and all of those from the 1500 incident. Lest we forget.

If I recall correctly, you get more experience if you side with Bodhi unless, when working for the thieves, you go out of your way to meet every vampire you can on the streets at night. There's a mod that restores a couple of encounters that were cut in the final version, and that might make siding with the thieves slightly more lucrative.

I think you get more gold and more items if you side with Bodhi. For example, you can acquire the Rifthome Axe and Elven Chain +1 if you kill all of the thieves. You can acquire the Mace of Disruption and the Amulet of Power no matter which guild you side with. You can also check all of the chests for scrolls, potions, gems, and minor pieces of equipment (Ashen Scales +2, some +1 and +2 weapons, etc.) no matter whom you side with.

If you install the mod that adds a new store for special thieving-related items, just make sure you buy everything you want before you turn on the thieves.

You actually benefit more if you go the route with Bodhi, the Rifthorn and the Ring of Djinn Summon mostly.

I do believe that if you enter and kill everyone in the guild before the final of the Bodhi quests, Renal Bloodscalp will drop boots of speed.

If I play an evil party I generally find siding with Bodhi is better as you can get the Rifthome +3 axe which compensates for not being able to usw Azuredge (only usuable for good people)

You can also find a ring of Djinni summoning if you side with Bodhi which does not otherwise exist without cheating (as far as I know :) )

Thanks for the responses everyone. I usually do good parties that would never even consider working with Bodhi, so I wasn't sure exactly what kind of rewards you got from her. This time I'm evil (heh...its fun to kill random peasants to keep your rep low enough to keep vikky, edwin, & korgan in your party...) and I could justify working with either group. I ended up taking you guys's...that sounds kinda weird "you guys's"....anyways, I took the advice and went with Bodhi and the rewards were indeed worth it.
