I'm New, but I'll put in my two cents

Post by ChildeOfTwylite »

Okay, so as the title says, I'm new to this: The whole Forum thing. I was looking online in hopes of finding some info on KotOR III and this site is what I found. Before KotOR, I hated Starwars because it didn't appeal to me... except for the music (John Williams... need I say more?) and the awesome special effects. Now... as for the game itself... As do most who post on this site, I think it's unbelieveable. KotOR I, I had a problem with Maanan. It was boring and tedious to get through. But the game was still awesome (even after playing it 30-40+ times... ^-^") KotOR II did a great justice on the first, the plot for both is great. The whole StarForge thing was unbelieveable... and then finding out you're Revan in the end... wow... I might be an idiot for not seeing it, but I was truely shocked. KotOR II was great, but Korriban was a waste of programming... and more could have been done with Darth Sion; He was actually an antagonist I could grow to hate. The other guy, I can't remember his name off of the top of my head, was pathetic.
My biggest problem with the game is how Grey Jedi seem to get jipped, to say the least. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm with Jolee Bindo, Both extremes aggrivate me. Sure, Grey Jedi get more resistance to the force, but they get no prestiege classes and no extra abilities. I hope that if there is a KotORIII that Revan is dead, or is fused into a lightsaber crystal... and I hope you can get some of his/her artifacts (especially the mask). I heard something about "Sith Lord Chronicles"... like theyre going to make a bunch of games based on the stroies of Freedon Naad and Markos Ragnos... or something...
(And just for a thought... could there be a Starwars game with similar gameplay to that of The Elder Scrolls III? ... don't burn me at the stake, just a thought...)
Anyone feel free to Email me at Dunscombx@yahoo.com or on AIM ChildeOfTwylite...

Welcome to the fourms :) . I hated Mannan aswell it blew chunks. This may sound noobish but what sort of gameplay is the Elder scrolls III that you speak of? Would it fit in in the star wars galaxy?
Add l Skinflute l (Lower case L's) if you think you can beat me 1v1 snipers in Halo 2.

The Elder Scrolls, specifically Morrowind (since that's the only one I really know about), is an extremely open-ended fantasy RPG. There is no direction for you to go in, most of the areas are free to be explored and most of the game has little to do with the main plot. However, it lacks the NPC interaction of KotOR and other RPG's, the plot is fairly thin, and the lack of linearity at times can kill the game (people get bored of wandering around, especially when nothing can challenge them). That's just my opinion.

Regarding the first two in the series, I don't know anything about them. GameBanshee has coverage of Morrowind and the upcoming fourth incarnation of The Elder Scrolls, Oblivion if you want more info.

Yeah

Thanks for replying.. something I wasnt expecting... Yeah, its true, morrowind was open ended... but I enjoyed it, probably too much. I liked having to wander around, I like the enormous world and I thought the graphics were great. I loved the fact you could enchant weapons and create your own spells ( A true D&D fan -_-")... Id like a first person starwars game. I cant stand third person. And I saw republic commando or whatever it was... that game hugged root. I dunno whats next. Any suggestions on a good xbox RPG that is first person with good graphics? Possibly similar to Morrowind?

Since this thread doesn't pertain to KoTOR III and instead seems to be more of an RPG discussion, I am moving it to the appropriate forum.

No, not really. There aren't too many good Xbox RPG's from a first person view, if any. There are some on the PC, but I don't know of any with graphics as good as Morrowind's. You'd have to look around.
