Long Quests Carry Over? (small spoils)

Post by Hamster »

I'm about to finish Chapter 3, and I know I'm not going back the Athkatla for days (game days). Do long quests (which are timed) like the D'Arnise stronghold and Jaheira's romance wait until I get back? I haven't fought Roenall yet, and I don't want to lose my stronghold while I'm off somewhere else.

you should finish any timed quests (though i don't remember the keep quest being timed), though the rest will wait for you.

Unless they say something has to be done in "x number of days" then the quest isn't timed, and can be carried over to the later chapters. Nalia's keep, although she says it is urgent because they are being attacked, isn't timed to my knowledge. Neither are things like Trademeet, Umar Hills, etc.

Most of the timed quests occur in Ch. 5 (I won't tell you what that is).

Have to be thoughtful about who is in your party though. I don't know if Nalia will 'leave' while you're in Brynlaw, or later, if you haven't finished D'Arnise quest. I have had her leave after Windspear when I decided to pick her up (no pun intended) in Copper Coronet and not go directly to D'Arnise.

The same might hold true for Anomen. I've had the messinger show up just as I exited the Windspear underground. We were headed back to the city anyway so I don't know if he'll leave without you or not.

Good point. Nalia will definately leave if you take to long. Could be other examples.

I particularly like the dialog that occurs when you repeatedly accept and dismiss an NPC from your party..
