trouble opening containers

Post by irbrit »

So I click a container to open it and it flips open then slams shut. This happened infrequently when I played as a Tor, frequently as a Bruj and most of the time on the 3rd playing as a Tran. I can solve the prob by saving, quitting the game and reloarding but it is a PAIN. Does anyone else get this and is there a cure?

You're not supposed to click them to open them. You get the 'container' icon, hit 'E' (by default) to open them, and then click 'Exit' to close them. I'm not sure what action you would get from clicking them, but it would probably be weird - much like you're experiencing.

There is no cure per se, I think it's a bug in the engine itself.

I find the best solution is simply to crouch and then try to open the container again, you have to remain absolutely still- no movment forward/back/left/right and no movement of the cursor. Sometimes you have to crouch and then stand up again.

I used to have this problem too, but it was fixed by changing the control keys. Weird, I know.

Sorry, my loose terminology. I do hit the use key. Looks like a bug but I will change the e key, Thanks
