Broken Weapon

OK. You probably all know of the broken weapon you can get off of one of the duegers (or whatever) on the first level of the first dungeon. I was just wondering, does this broken weapon have any use at all in the game? I have not played very far through so I don't know. So is it worth carrying?

No known use to me, though, as I'm sure Slyweasel would readily tell you, I don't know too much.
