Ok I got it figured out FOR REAL!!!!
In your Program Files/Dreamcatcher/Dungeon Lords file there is a folder called: grn_model
in it is the setups for the different looks of the characters
I SUCCESSFULLY just changed the Human Females hair to long and red
I did it by changing the file named: PCHF_Hair_PT_blonde.GR2
which is the default Human Female hair
to the file PCHF_Hair_Long_red.GR2
you also have to change the file hair_half to the hair_half that corresponds with the hair that you changed the default to......
for example: if you change the default Human Female hair from: PCHF_Hair_PT_blonde.GR2
to
PCHF_Hair_Long_red.GR2
then you must also change the default Human Female half hair from: PCHF_Hair_PT_blonde_half.GR2
to
PCHF_Hair_Long_red_half.GR2
for it to match with a helmet on or off......otherwise the hairstyles will change when you put on or take off a helmet
also the default Dwarf hair is:
PCDM_BeardHairAbrown.GR2
happy character creating
I will keep posting as I learn more
please post all your discoveries here
FOR REAL change your characters appearence :)

I can't find find the dafault hair for the Elf Male.
I have testet all PCEM hair files (by editing a "-bla" after the file name
) but in the game the elf hasn't changed at all.
Could it be that the short blonde hair he has is included in the Basemodel file?
Or what have I done wrong?
Edit: I have just tried simply to delete all files beginning with PCEM_hair but it still didn't change anything...
Edit 2: I just read your postings in the Dreamcacher-forum. So it's really as i thought and the hair styles of the elf and human males are already included in the "Basemodel" and cannot be changed... Arg!

Yeah......unfortunatly that is my conclusion
As far as I can tell the only thing that can be changed in this manor is the hair and only for the Elf Female, Human Female, and Dwarf Male.....I have tried changing other things like the look of the face and such to no avail......
But one new thing I am trying is to see if you can play as an NPC such as a Minotaur......most of the animations are there, but if they arn't in the backveiw then it might not work.....
I will keep working and see what else can be changed and keep everyone up to date....
Hopefully they fix it all in patch 1.4 and all my work will be for nothing.....
but if it worked the way it is supposed to.....that would be even better
