Grenades and Xbow bolts

Nines chased off 3 sabbat by patting his grenade. Grunfeld Bach dropped grenades on me when I fought him. I can get a crossbow but never find any bolts. Is there any way to get these items for myself?

Once you have the crossbow, sell it to one of the merchants, then buy it back and you should then be able to purchase ammo from that merchant. Alternately, install the unofficial v1.5 patch and you will have access to crossbows (and fire crossbows) earlier.

I have yet to see any grenades show up for player use in the regular, or the patched, game.

Matthew gives the only strategy for getting crossbow bolts - selling and buying back from merchants. And, yeah, there are no grenades in the game that the player can acquire. It seems that their may have been interest in adding them at one point, as even Mercurio has a pertinent dialogue about grenades. However, none have actually been implemented for the player character.

Thanks. But the unofficial 1.5 patch? I did a google search and all it came up with was a German patch. Is there an English version.

AFAIK the fanpatch doesn't contain any texts, so its not language specific ?
