Saving and rest problems

Post by Blackshadow »

I know that you can't save or rest in battles but I have been having problems regarding the matter.Sometimes when I get in battle or take a quest it won't let me rest or save lets say during a nonaction part of the mission or after the battle is over sometimes , it doesn't even say "you can't save in combat." it just says "you can't save at this time." I can go to another part of the city or where ever I am but it doesn't work.It is getting on my nerves, and stopping any progress. This is my first BD and I just started playing a couple of days ago so maybe I am doing something wrong.

Right now I am on the Harper base quest and I have finished it before but was unable to save afterwards. Please help me my fellow gamers.

You know its the end of the world when your xbox breaks apart, and when the pc goes, well there is time for a job, right?

In many cases the reason is a spell that's still active (typically cloud / fog / entangle / telly field type spells that last for several rounds).

I think I know the problem that you are talking about. I had a problem where I would attempt to rest in an inn, and be told it was impossible, but then if I rested outside it was allowed. I never solved it though, however when I played on a different computer, I had no problems.
In memorian: Fiona; Ravager; Lestat; Phreddie; and all of those from the 1500 incident. Lest we forget.

You also get that message when a script is running that makes an NPC move or walk off-screen. For instance, when a messenger comes to tell you to go to a certain place or talk to someone else, the script will not allow you to save until the messenger has disappeared from the screen. This can be confusing sometimes, since they might wander out of your field of view, but still be around for a few seconds.

I had a similar problem once. What I did was this:

Leave the area, or enter another area that gives you an "Auto Save"

Turn the game off, and reload from that auto save. This fixed my problem. Good luck!

When trying to book a room at an inn your characters all need to be close to the inn keeper. If they're scattered about too far then it won't let you rest. You'll get a message saying you can't rest at the time. Just move them all into a bunch all it should let you rest.

It sometimes happens when a character is trying to talk to you but for some reason can't reach you. The script is still running and so you can't save, the load trick described I've found works best.
