Pirates of the Carribean help

Im sure that once you read this youll think oh no, not that moive. But I promise that this is the game not the movie. It would have been called Sea Dogs II but after the movie came out they changed the name.
Anyway, I have installed the game and whatnot and I tried to start a game. When I get the main menu screen everything shows up but not the words. I know where the new game button should be so i click on it to start one. As it is loading the game locks up and tells me that I have an error of some sort saying that ENGINE.exe has had a problem and needs to close down.

Can someone help me with this? Thanks.

I'm quite sure what the issue could be. My advice would be to try your luck in the Tech Support forum we have here. I can move the tread there if you like.

Try the usual things:

Reinstall and update the game.
Reinstall and update graphics drivers
Reinstall and update DirectX.

Sounds like a graphics issue anyway.
