Reputation drop..... MAJOR DROP!!!

Post by ajers »

I have just realised that my rep has dropped from 20 to poor 10...

Im lawful good allignment, and in need of the rep...

In brynnlaw, juste before the ofsailing with saemon and the following killing og deshariks men, my rep was 20. But when i arrived to the suhuagin city it was dropped to 10.

Can someone explain this thing for me......

Greetings from denmark...

My guess is in the process you have managed to kill some bystanders who were friendlies (i.e. - blue circle under people), possbily with area affect spells. Killing friendlies will drop your rep a bunch.
Crush enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of the women.

Do you like being the Slayer a bit too much? Each change drops you 2 Rep.

I'd bet my money on the Slayer as well. Still, I believe it's stupid to loose reputation if you're just slaying some drows in the underdark or something like that. You should loose HP or stats or something like that :/

//edit: Slayer, not Ravager ^^;

I think I might know what has occured to you.
The same happened to me while in Brynnlaw. While searching for the horn for Saemon Havarian in the house with Desharik's wife, I accidently killed both the wifey and lover.
Gave me quite the rep decrease.

I remember fighting the Gityanki in Athkatla and eveyone's spells killing the poor defenceless commoners. Eventually had to do the battle in the Promenade- less people.

Killing any friendlies - especially weaponless - has a major drop on rep. and it can be as much as 5 per person. :(

5 is nothing, I think I losed 14 for killing a Flaming Fist or something like that. I was shocked for a few seconds ^^.

ONE Flaming Fist? Or a whole army? :D

Sorry it's slightly off-topic.

Merchants can net you great REP drops too.

reputation drop

When i sneaked the horn form deshariks wife, i didnt kill her, nor her loverboy (that lucky bastard.... oooh no off topic) But i killed the three guards. But they were red. Maybe on the boat in the insane and quite uncontrolled battle with the gianthaky soldiers, a commoner or two were killed.... Hmmm... i don want to start from that moment again, on my save.

I might have to do some reputation work og buy some in a temple or so...

anyway... thanks!

The guards were hostile because you were stealing and got cought, so killing them caused the rep. drop.

Fireball, Skulltrap, Sunfire, Cloudkill, Lightning Bolt and similar spells are really not good ideas on certain maps.

I remember I was using the Staff of Magi's inate spells on a demon doing the Planet Prison quest and ended up hitting Raelish Shai by accident causing me to get stuck in the prison.

Nah, those guards are enemies and don't cause any rep drop at all.
