Just starting and in need of help

Post by Coyld »

Hi Everyone
I am just starting DL and wanted to have a couple questions answered. Here they are
1. I want my character to be a monk. I know that it is a second tier character, but I want my whole character focused around the idea of a monk. So what is a good combo of race/classes through tier 3 for me to go?
2. Do monks get light dual weapons? I read around these forums that the manual that comes with the game is wrong on this so I wanted to know if they do or not.
Well thats it. Any input back is appreciated. Thanks.

I have copied the relevant classinformations for you, but next time you should
follow this link:
http://www.gamebanshee.com/dungeonlords/walkthrough.php

Monk:
Learning Bonuses
Archery, Athletics, Celestial Magic, Light Pole Weapons, Rune Magic
New Skills
Ninjutsu, Channel

Ascension Quest: To become a Monk, you must deliver a message to the ninja Utai Nujuru in the Venturean Forest. Utai works for Lord Barrowgrim and has been killing travelers in the forest, so the guild asks you to convince him to change his allegiance. However, Utai isn’t willing to negotiate, so you’ll have to fight him. Once the situation is resolved, return to the guild to ascend into the Monk class.

Marauder:
Learning Bonuses
Light Armor, Medium Armor, Heavy Armor, Light Shields, Medium Shields, Heavy Shields, Light Weapons, Medium Weapons, Heavy Weapons
New Skills
Heavy Weapons, Light Dual Weapons

Ascension Quest: To become a Marauder, you must please the Guild of Fighters by proving yourself in battle. You are asked to take down a renegade Marauder named Guire Boarbone, who is ambushing travelers on the road between Arindale and Fargrove. Search the path not far from the western gate of Fargrove to find Guire, then dispatch of him and his men. Return to the guild to ascend into the Marauder specialty class.

I hope this will help,
have fun! :D

Thanks, now one more question

Cool, thanks for info, I did see that link before, but I wanted some info from other players. And that will help me out. Now what 3rd tier class should I get? I am leaning towards Deathlord or Shaolei Master. Any advice would help. Thanks. Coyld

You have to decide by yourself --> I mean - look at the posted information about the mentioned classes and choose which special abilities you desire the most. I would choose deathlord, because of his new skills, mainly - dual medium weapons.

Cool thanks....

Cool thanks you two for answers. Now when I start my character I wont have to restart him. I hate getting to a certain point and then having to restart because I cant do what I originally started out to do because of not knowing what is going on. Thanks again. Coyld

I use fighter/adept/valkyrie/celestial/warwitch character and she is very funny. Nobody in game (mean monsters) cannot kill me.
For example Baloroth was hunted down by my girl with spellenchanted emerald greatsword and fireward (celestial spell) in 15 sec.
Have fun enjoy the game ... it is great (mean DL) ;)
What doesn't kill you - makes you stronger !!!
