I think I did something... *SPOILER*

Charm connection fishermen *SPOILER*

Well, I just finnished Nashkel mines and I were on my way to the bandit camp, I thought I would go by the Ankheg place and pick up Ajantis. On my way there I did a quick visit to the friendly arm and decided to rob the place because I've boosted Imoen's "open locks". There are 3 rooms in the friendly arm (upper floors) which holds 2 noblemen and Tethyr (or something). If you try to clean their drawers or so to speak they will alert the guards. I thought about it for a while and tried several different ways to come around this and *pling* idea! I used dire charm on the two nobles and it worked like a charm. ;) So I got all the valueables from their rooms and went down to rest my party at the inn.

Out of curiosity I went up to the upper floors to check on the charmed nobles and they had turned hostile on me. Without any backup saving. I felt very unsure and scared that this had effected any other NPC's in the game. I noticed that I had no reputation drop and that it was ONLY the two charmed nobles that were hostile and no one else.

A little worried I continued north to the Ankheg place and recruited Ajantis. I then explored the area and found some fishermen "Tellman" and two others. They went hostile on my on sight. But they did not attack, they fled. I checked the walkthrougha nd you are supposed to talk to them. But I could not... :( I suppose this has a connection to my charm-robbery. But I am still unsure. However I also found a farmer named Brun but he was not hostile. I find this a little confusing. Thanks for listening. Please help.

Are Tellman and the gang supposed to attack me on sight?
Should I restart the game and roll a new char? :'(

Damn, I wish I was'nt so greedy in RPG's... :P
Did I say druid?
I'm a super-mage ffs! :D

No it's ok, those guys are just part of a sidequest.
The problem is that the people with the most ridiculous ideas are always the people who are most certain of them.

Using the Dire Charmspell probably wasn't such a good idea because after it wears of, you have peed off the people you charmed.
Still, that doesn't explain why other people, like the Tellman-group, has red circles around them. That's not supposed to happen, even if your rep is 1.
I realise I'm not helping you in any way, but I think something is wrong in your game. Did you check any other npc's? Are you really sure your rep is all right (because the robbing of the Friendly Arm Inn should have had some impact)?

Spoilers abound, reader beware

Someone already mentioned that dire charm isn't such a good idea in these situations. Instead, steal Algernon's cloak from Algernon (on the second floor of Feldepost's in Beregost) and use that to charm people that you want to rob blind ;-) I have never had any adverse consequences using this item.

I am not sure why the fishermen would attack you on sight. Have you spoken to the druid that lives in the Baldur's Gate Bridge area? It's a possibility that you have started this subquest previously and forgot. Another possibility is that you are having quest problems caused by a mod or tweak-did you end up installing those dudleyville "fixes" we discussed earlier? As I told you, I had some problems with very simple straightforward quests after using the dudleyville fixpacks and uninstalled them.
