The decision is probably best left until the full features of the Xbox 360 is revealed.
Up untill now the advantages of the PC have been patches, mods, high resolution etc. BUt these next gen consoles have better hard drive support, better net features, and support HDTV etc
I will get the PC version since I generally don't purchase consoles, but a more open minded person may have quite a dilemma when the next gens are released.

I doubt you'll be able to download as many mods on the Xbox version as on the PC version, and that's the most important reason why I'm going to buy the pc version. Harddrive speed doesn't matter much for a game, and I don't care much about HDTV. HDTV is just television with computer technology and dolby sound.

Yes the new Xbox will have all those new and cool features but you are forgetting one thing. It can't be upgraded. An average Console stays on teh market for 4yrs.
Now take PC's in 4yrs. There is always a new video card and processor released each year. Always something new for them.
All consoles can do is play catch up. Yes they do get to the level of PC's but afterwards PC's go beyond the capabilities of the console.

From what I see here I think I will go with the PC version. Because right now I play morrowind on my XBOX it's really annoying not to be able to donwload mods and use the construction set. Thanks people! But ofcourse if you have anymore advice or tips feel free to post.

Because of money? I just got a 120 GB hard drive, a top-of-the-line soundcard, a 3.1 gHz Athlon CPU, a new, fast-as-can-be CD reader/writer drive, a good if not great video card, and 1 GB RAM, all for about $800. I can upgrade my existing PC easily, cheaply. Can you do that on an Xbox? And can you switch from doing the taxes to checking the weather to buying a game to answering email to writing an article to playing a game on the Xbox?

We are planning to buy a new PC, so I might be getting it for PC, however, I still want an XBox360.
One of the main disadvantages for PC, being viruses, bugs, and not being to anticipate problems with it. If there is a CTD bug, it is hard to locate the actual source of the problem, whereas, the only problem with Xbox is that the CD might be over-used.
Also, the fact that you need to upgrade the PC, nearly constantly, shows how annyoing it just is, whereas on a Xbox, you don't need to, just wait for the next gen console.
But all of these are mere peccadilloes
I'd rather have it for PC than Xbox360, but I still want a Xbox360

The Xbox360 is just a PC (or in this case, a Mac) optimized for gaming. It crashes like any other PC, just that there are less programs to crash it, and the programs that could crash are tested more. PS2s and Xboxs can break down, and so can the Xbox360.One of the main disadvantages for PC, being viruses, bugs, and not being to anticipate problems with it. I sure don't want to wait five years. By September the top-end PCs will catch up with the Xbox360 in terms of graphics, by summer next year mid-range PCs will do the same, and after another year, we have low end PCs that can beat the Xbox360. By the time a new console is released, we may well be seeing integrated graphics that are more powerful than Xbox360's. And there will be little graphics advancement during that time; sure, gamemakers could probably push the console to the full, but remember that the first batch of games will be designed to show-off the console's power. There isn't very much room left to exploit, whereas PC games will continue to evolve. Also, the fact that you need to upgrade the PC, nearly constantly, shows how annyoing it just is, whereas on a Xbox, you don't need to, just wait for the next gen console.

Check again. That's what I've got, and it's what Norton and Windows show running, as well.

Even the very top end is only 2.8GHz. I suppose you mean the Sempron 3100+?

No, I mean Athlon 64 bit 3.0+, just like this. Got the box, watched it being put in, can check the contents of my computer via Norton, System Mechanic Pro, etc.

Since when? Consoles are actually becoming less and less popular since the days of the SNES.

Any statistics to back this up, because it isn't my own personal impression, so I'd be interested in seeing if my personal impression is wrong .
When viewing how many consoles are on the market now a days, and how many games are developed as dual platformed between PC and a Console - it does strike me as consoles are on the rise constantly. However -as said eslewhere in this thread - consoles start to resemble the PC more and more, except by not being as upgradable.
Anyways - on topic -then I'm pure PC, and if/when I get this game it will 100% certaincy be for the PC. The day I stop gaming on my PC is the day I stop gaming period.

NES sales: 61780000
SNES sales: 49020000
N64 sales: 32930000
You might argue that the N64 was less popular than the NES, but neither SNES nor N64 were flops.

Console games were not commonly released on PCs and vice versa. This shows only a merge between PC and console games, not the rise of either. When viewing how many consoles are on the market now a days, and how many games are developed as dual platformed between PC and a Console - it does strike me as consoles are on the rise constantly.
