Help with Stalled Aerie Romance?

Post by Arcegetrix »

I'm playing through the first time and my romance with Aerie seems to have ended early. I've just about finished all of the quests in Ch. 2 and I haven't had a conversation with her for a while.

The last time we talked (many hours of gameplay ago) we had an innocuous conversation that followed her several complaints about losing her wings. Since then nothing!

I used the CLUAConsole commands to check out her profile and got a love talk rating of 29. I loaded a very old save from when she still wasn't talking to me and got the same number!

I tried setting the AerieRomance GLOBALS to 1 and nothing happened.

Can anyone provide me with a solution to this problem? Thanks!

Most likely, you just need to wait a while to get the next romance dialogue. If you want to make sure the romance is indeed active, the console command was mistyped in the "SPOILERS GALORE" post about the Jaheira romance. It's actually:

CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("JaheiraRomance","GLOBAL",1)

You can replace JaheiraRomance with any of the other applicable NPCs, such as AerieRomance, ViconiaRomance, or AnomenRomance. Just remember that it's "GLOBAL," not "GLOBALS." Give her a few seconds to respond. If she still doesn't, you may need to rest first.

On a side note, the romances are generally more rewarding if you let them play out by themselves, instead of going through them quickly... at least the first time. Hope this helps, and good luck with Aerie! Image

Thanks Hellion, I was using GLOBALS and getting nowhere.

I tried using CLUAConsole to force the romance ahead one step and it still wouldn't go ahead from Lovetalk value 29. I rested, went and rested in forests, etc. and still nothing.

So I went and used GetGlobal to check my GLOBAL with Aerie both before and after using SetGlobal to turn it to one. It was at 1335901 before and at 1 after, so SetGlobal was working, but still no romance dialogue.

Maybe someone knows if there was some sort of trigger I was failing to set (like having her get injured, or resting in a certain place) that could have moved us from 29.

Anyway, I just set the lovetalk rating to 34 and it started to work again. Yay romance! I just had to skip one or two Aerie conversations.

I had the exact same problem: My lovetalk gets stuck at 29 and even if i set the aerieromance to 1 (and check that it really is one), the variable always stays at one and she doesn't talk to me, no matter how much i wait/sleep/etc
Being an Evil Overlord seems to be a good career choice. It pays well, there are all sorts of perks and you can set your own hours. However every Evil Overlord I've read about in books or seen in movies invariably gets overthrown and destroyed in the end. I've noticed that no matter whether they are barbarian lords, deranged wizards, mad scientists or alien invaders, they always seem to make the same basic mistakes every single time. Therefore, if I ever happen to become an Evil Overlord, ...

i forgot to say, the aerieromanceactive is at 1, and i'm at chap 3, she hasn't died, i havent said anything stupid, etc

i believe it's a bug that stucks lovetalk at 29, so where can i find something (patches, etc) to repair this?
