@Fable, I dont mean to point the finger and say you're misdjudging, but I guess it was a valid way to read your sentence, that's all.
@Georgi, I just think that they'll try to go after bigger fish, specially in São Paulo, on Paulista Avenue, or on the literally unprotected tube trains.
BTW, Brazil just cant be supportive to the war in any way, specially with the budget cuts on army. We have a few guys helping on UN missions, but nothing really serious.

So you're saying you think they just want to kill as many people as possible, so they'd go for an easy target with a lot of people on it, despite the fact that there's no reason for an attack in your country? I don't buy it. Much as they like to pass these people off as homicidal maniacs, they do have reasons for picking the targets they choose, and I can't see any reason why you would be targeted.

I really dont think they are homicidal maniacs, I think they are religious fanatics, what's even worst. Homicidal maniacs have killing rampages while in mania, but religious fanatics are sent by God, Goddess or whomever is imprinted on their faith. So yes, I guess I'm "kind of" immune because I'm far away from those places I've mentioned. Alas, I'm not immune to homicidal maniacs, but I'm immune to terrorism in Osama Bin Laden - muslim fanatism fashion.

Meanwhile, latest BBC news has interviews with several "experts" who say that this series of bombings looks like copycat crimes. Several arrests have been made.

To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

But if someone is willing to cite amongst those reasons the loss of Al-Andalus (in the 15th century) as a reason to strike Spain... I don't think any Western country is really immune. Countries such as France and Germany, opposed to the war in Iraq, have controversial laws on the headscarves which can be cited as a reason. These are excuses, if they are not present, they'll find others. There are some people on the fringes of Islamic fundamentalism whose only reason to strike with terror is because they hate western society and what it stands for. Which in no means diminishes the responsibility of the US to clean up the mess it's made of Iraq or the urgency to find a solution to the Israel-Palestine problem, to name a few issues.

I think that God in creating man somewhat overestimated his ability.
