Problem on Dantooine

Post by SonicAngel »

I have a very strong PC (P4 3.2,1 gig ram,asus9800xt),the game runs very smooth even if I boost it to the top graphic options.Except on Dantooine...no matter where in the game so far it runs very smoothly, however the very second I hit the courtyard on dantooine my fps drops to like 3,I tryed lowering all options to minimum, but this only gained me like 1 or 2 more fps. I managed to strugle through a bit of the planet but it's just impossible to play like this...Im using ver 1.03.
Anything I can do or is this a known issue and Im screwed?

You have the latest patch? And the latest drivers for your video card?

Then although this may seem counterintuitive, try installing the next to last set of drivers to come out for your video card, back in. That's actually been a fix which has worked for some people in this forum, since the game first appeared.

This problem has been discussed here before, but always the culprit card was an ATI--usually a 9600. Changing drivers or installing a different card provided the solution.

Have you tried an 800x600 resolution with all settings on highest possible (anti-aliasing, etc)? That's another solution that's worked for at least a few people. Beyond that, I can only suggest Bioware's tech website.

Well the card is a 9800xt and i guess I cant fix it...i even tryed omegadrivers and nothing worked,i crawled through dantooine and finally got it over with (thank god for smaller areas and looking at walls through fights also worx hehe),im on tatooine right now and everything works much much smoother even with every option boosted to it's max. Hopefully it won't happen again (and if that's likely please tell me,I have an old FX5200 somewhere so I better look for it).

No, Dantooine is the only time something like that happens.

When it happened to me, I went to the options screen, altered the settings in any way, and came back to Dantooine: problems gone...until I moved into another area on the planet that required file loading. Then I had to go through it all, again. The latest drivers solved the problem altogether.
