I know that it would never be the most powerful combo, but I want to build a cleric/sorceror multiclass character.
Has anybody done this?
What levels did you take cleric or sorceror to? (I'm thinking a level 30 character)
my ideas:
15/15 - 8th level cleric and 7th level sorc
19s/11c - 9th level sorc and 6th cleric (heal)
How did they perform? I'm guessing that they would have endless spells but be somewhat of a gimped caster in either class.

Cleric/Sorceror Multiclass
What levels depends on what other classes you will have in your party. E.g. will you have another sorceror (preferably) or dedicated wizard (or possibly cleric of Lathander or Talos) to deal out the AoE damage? Will you have another cleric that can handle Resurrection, Mass Heal, etc?
I could see this class being great in melee (e.g. nearly unhittable) due to the extreme amount of personal buff spells available to this class combo, but as you say, it would be somewhat gimped in the offense department. The extreme amount of Wis and Cha needed (along with a half decent Int for skill points) means you don't have much room to pump physical stats for melee, either. Therefore, it better be unhittable, because it won't have the Str to deliver knockout blows and won't have the Con to take too much punishment.

When your back is against the wall... the other guy is in a whole lotta trouble.

If you were going to keep the levels equal than aasimar would be the way to go with +2 bonus to both WIS and CHA
If not Drow (female) as you'd get the CHA bonus and the favoured class of drow female is Cleric.
In terms of Cleric Domain Moringlord of Lathander/Stormlord of Talos if bombarding, maybe Dreadmaster of Bane if the character would be using disabling/charm based spells.

I'm actually trying to make the Hands of Fury (a default party) into a HOF viable party.
Makados starts as a human cleric with 14 wisdom but 16 charisma.
The other team members (as I plan on building them):
Dahel Bloody-four (human): Barb 26 fighter 4
Mirai Wainwright (half elf): Mage 20 fighter 4 Rogue 3 Barb 3 (level her as a mage first before adding the flavor classes...for feats, speed,hp, evasion, backstabs on morkenkainens sword)
Amraith (elf) : Fighter 10 Mage 20 (starts as fighter 6 for many attack archer...then squat and go directly to mage5...build from there as see fit). He will trail in mage levels and never have Mirai's intelligence (starts with 14 vs. Mirai's 18) so he will be a fill in caster NOT casting spells where DC is important.
Harbesh Carver: Utility man extraordinaire. Rogue 5 Bard 5 Fighter 12 Specialist Wizard 8. This man handles thief things along with singing. He can also fight and throw on some stone skins greater malison blink blur MI etc.
Fissera: Druid/Cleric...still trying to figure out the split.
General Impression: I have some room to play with Makados as a sorceror or as a cleric since I have a druid/cleric and also a main mage and 2 back-up mages.
Thank you,
myrophine

I agree Aasimar or drow are both the best in the long run. I am stuck with human since it is a default party that I am building! Hands of Fury!
But this thread is to discuss cleric/sorcerors so I acknowledge your point.
Human isn't bad in the short run as you advance faster and have more skill points. (for what its worth).
The guy in question is a stormlord of talos starting out. I think scion of storms is in order along with chain lightning as a sorc spell dishing out lightning like the emperor in star wars!

@ Dedigan
What did you do with the other levels? 24-25 cleric and 5-6 sorc? Or did you have another mixin? I like 9th level domain spells but not MS 9 or gate so I never see too much point in going high cleric levels...
....unless you start with great wisdom and can really pound the enemy with (DC) offensive spells. Or high physical stats and make a DUHM spell tank.
just my thoughts,

Still trying to figure out that party, Myrophine?
First, I would sy, don't have characters with so many different classes, it'll just weaken them.
From what I remember of what we said on the other thread, I would recommend going higher on the cleric level, due to the amount of wizard types you probably will have.
How about staying as a cleric and not multi-classing for once. You should get more powerful cleric spells as a result.
